It's been tough catching up on this thread.
All I know about it is you guys have given some Really bad advice.
I have Personally wasted 4 boxes of Twinkies trying to cut through a one inch free-hanging manilla rope.

...oh the humanity....
 
There are useful ideas to be found in this thread, and also personality conflicts. At this point it seems to be mostly personality conflicts, and it's long enough so . . . .
