The MacGyver Game

A condom can be used to hold water and to also water proof items you'd like to stay dry.

How about a single diaper (unsoiled)

Car hubcap: Old time style, bowl, plate to catch rainwater in..Newer plastic kind: cutting tool, firestarter, plate. Next Item: rubber section from blown out tire.....

Thick woolen sock. Well you could use it as a pot holder, tinder pouch, Cut lengthwise and insulate inside your boots in the cold. Unravel for line. Improvised glove. Prefilter your drinking water. How about a condom?

When I first read this I thought you were recommending using a thick woolen sock as a condom.:o:D

Burns abbrasians perhaps poison ivy.. also the majority of in active ingredients are are mad of wax, and oils.. so it would probably be of use as a firestarter in some capacity.

Fish hook.
Frog spear barb.

Magnetise it for use as a compass.
Clean out small holes, like a salt shaker.
Make holes in eggs so you can cook them in a fire without bursting.

Try... an old fashioned tape walkman (with Barry Manilow tape, battery and headphones)

Batteries: firestarter
electrical cords: cordage
plastic housing: primitive cutting tool
various electrical components: fishing lure parts?
Barry Manilow: sleep aid
tape: cordage
headphones: new fashion statement or ear insulators
foam headphones covers and speaker covers: large particle water filter
various metal hinges and parts: maybe trap triggers?

new item: analog wristwatch with cloth/velcro band

fantastic thread, by the way

If the wristwatch still works, you can use it as a compass.

If it's busted, the face (if glass) could be knapped to form a small cutting tool, or used as a lens - put some polished metal behind it, and you have a decent signal.

Hands, if made of magnetic metal, could be used to make an improvised compass.

Small shiny gears could become fishing lures.

Velcro strap can be used to hold sticks together during shelter making, or as a means of affixing gear to your pack or belt.

Next up:metal fork.

Fishing lure, trap trigger, eating utensil, sharpen the handle for a knife or spear (attached to a stick).

Next item - empty unbroken glass coke bottle

You could get a decent knife from the handle and a real nice spear/gig from the tines..This might become a "sticky thread" if we keep it up long enough! :) How about one of those green propane cylinders that dummies keep leaving in the woods?(empty) and lets go one better and see how youre going to process it provided you have no tools to begin with?

Ummm...can i submit the first 1/3 of the movie The Gods Must Be Crazy?
Rolling pin and [mortar and] pestle are the ones i remember off the top of my head.

Also, I don't have the skills, but i've heard you can knap really nice broadheads out of thick glass such as a coke bottle might provide.
-------

I can't think an idea for Anrkst's green propane cylinder, so the next guy keep going with that i guess.

Is it empty?

Well they float so use it on a jug line and catch ya a big ole fish!

something easy yet you never see any one mention.

Paper Coffee Filters

With 3 of them: One filled with sand. One filled with grass and one filled with cooled down coal, you have a water filter.

Next: A BIC lighter, without fuel.

That's tough. How about take it apart and use the crome to make a lure to fish with. You can still start a fire with the spark wheel, flint and char. If it were to float, you could use it as a bobber for fishing. You might even be able to knap flint with it like a piece of antler. Break it up and use to get your tinder hotter. Carve a hook out of a piece of plastic. Fashion a wooden plug after taking off the top and store matches in it. Use it as a shot glass. I know, stretching it a bit. How about a rubber band?

empty bic without fuel still has flint, still throws sparks.

it will burn, the spring pushing the flint up can be used as string.

the metal face can be flattened to make a small cutting edge.

the striking wheel is mostly useless.

the bottom or top of the lighter can be ground down or cut off and the gas reservoir could be used to carry around small bits of tender or to place bait in for a trap!

Rubber band could be used for holding wood together for a spear head, holding medium tender together in a bundle, as a last ditch shoe string, holding your hair back. suspending a pot above a fire.

leather glove.

Use the leather glove to protect your hand while knapping the coke bottle into,
one knife blade, one spear head, and two arrow heads. Finish the edges with the paper clip
and the lighter. Use one of the remaining glass shards to shape the knife handle. the spear shaft, and the arrow shafts. Bind the points onto the handle/shafts using melted plastic from the previous items, melted in the soda can, and wrapped with the Manilow tape.

One bra, two condoms in sealed packages, and one woven leather belt.

Fill the condoms with water, place them in the bra...

(stop laughing! We aren't making fake boobs :p )

(ok, we are, but not on purpose...)

Use the leather thongs from the belt and the bra straps to make complete support and carry system, either a handle or a sling.

Congrats: a canteen that would make Freud spin end over end in his grave.

New Item: Car keys.

Grind a car key into a blade on a flat rock, or you can use em for fishing lures, and trap parts. Split rings etc..

Heres one for ya....

the plastic rings that hold a six pack together...
