The Making Of...

I hope the wait was worth it! Still needs a couple more coats of oil, but I could not wait till tomorrow to post it.

Looks great. How do the handles feel?

John,

Wow, I keep looking at the original drawing and then to the finished product. You are a gifted knife maker. Although, I did get a kick out of the equipment used, but to be honest, it doesn't matter what pencil you use....it's how big you write your name!!:D And your name (craftsmanship) is all over that design. Beautiful job John!!! Thank you so much.

Hi Stomper -

You knew I would love that one!

That is a very nice picture of the knife too - it shows off your beautiful grind-work.

Nice knife!

best regards -

That is beautiful, John! Outstanding work! When Riverwarrior showed me his sketches, this one really jumped out at me because it's the style of knife I wanted for certain tasks. I love the blade design and it should be just the ticket for me.

Sorry for the delay in posting, I was not feeling good yesterday, so stayed inside. Here it is, the Muscat, in black canvas, black liners and 1/8" ss pins. I really hope that this one does not "fall behind my bench" and get lost! ;)

I`m wondering if the Cab-N-Muk should be renamed the "Mighty Bear Hunter." ;)

OH MY GRACIOUS....:D:D:D I'm seriously considering keeping the "Cab-N-Muk" that "MyAGunn" purchased just for paybacks for his disclosing that bear hunt on his blog....:p:D

Dang! The Muscat is a sweet design! I can see where that might fall behind a bench and be "lost" forever. :D Great work! You certainly have a gift, John.

I'm pretty sure you were instructed not to read that. ;)

The worst part of all, is that I recently applied for a job as a "Bear Guide" in West Virginia. I just now received a phone call concerning my application and the only thing I heard on the other end of the line was hysterical laughter and something about a blog article they had just finished reading. Well, after that humiliation, all I got to say is that "Cab-N-Muk" #2 will be mine....:p:D

Could not use the stump today, it`s pouring rain.

Cab-N-Muk #2 in black canvas, black liners, and stainless pins.
