I just wanted to relay another participants generosity. I asked NCCNC in a pm if he would be making more beads, he of course said yes and that he would send me one. He asked if i was looking for anything. I mentioned almost in passing that i would like a hunting knife from the thread, because the family and friends i hunt with always ask about my knives, and that i would like to tell the story about this thread. He offered to give me a knife on the spot; it has served multiple generations of his family and he skinned his first deer with it. Not only that, he took the time to put a mirror edge on it that is C-RAZY sharp before sending it to me.
I don't know what to say other than THANK YOU, i love this knife and its genuine history, you put a huge smile on my face and it is much appreciated!
Also would someone direct me to a good custom leather sheath maker from the forum? This knife deserves a new sheath
Psyop here on this thread make sheaths....... That knife reminds me of the one I got for Christmas along with the matching hatchet in 1957. Never knew what happened to them. Mom probably hid them away somewhere LOL Hey I was 10 and a Cub Scout.

I have a large Sak up for grabs. Not sure of the model it was one of the many that Remy sent me. I can't post a pic through Tapatalk but will email it to anyone interested. It has large and small blade, can opener, bottle opener, corkscrew and awl. It's well used but lots of life left. I also have a hunting knife coming up soon so stay tuned! LoL

Glad the kit made it safely, and I have to admit, it is one of the few items on here I hope you never have to use!!!
I got the survival kit and the caribieners today!!!! Thank you to everyone who has given. I will have more stuff going up on the block in the next few days!

How to do this???
First off I am not revealing this for pity, and especially not in order to get things. But I am who Jim has mentioned and some of you know my story. Very briefly though, I had a spinal cord infarction (stroke?) in July of 2012 that left me a paraplegic for a couple months,but it was an incomplete stroke which means some feeling has come back and for the past 4 months I have been able to retire the wheelchair and now use a walker, I also have been driving for the past month and THAT has made a world of difference!! But unfortunately being an incompete infarction ( I don't like the word stroke LOL) and being able to feel, it is PAIN that I feel the most. Being on some heavy pain meds has really disturbed my sleep patterns and is causing me to have some physical problems and some mental in the form of depression over never being able to walk as I did before. I have started a new med that seems to be working and with the onset of the Fall season I am beginning to feel better. I LOVE football from high school, college, and professional!! Just love it!!
I want to thank Jim for mentioning this and then allowing me to decide if I wanted to "out" myself. That is just so cool!! You know it would not hurt for us to pray for all the folks posting here. I know it would not be practical, or able, to mention each name, but it is my belief that He knows, simple as that.
Btw, I have become tolerant to the drugs I have to take and though they manage the pain, they do not make me high. But I really have to practice safe driving and I avoid busy roads and take the less traveled path so to say. So far it has not been a problem, and God willing, I will continue to drive safely!!
Now, in the spirit of the thread I have a brand new, never opened, 4Sevens Preon 1, red, to pay forward.
So let the thread continue........

That right there is a Victorinox Spartan. I pretty sure because I have one at home. It was my first SAK when I was like 10, and it cut the snot out of my hand when I was playing with it (I had my finger in the way when closing it, and the spring snapped the blade down). I wonder why I never got into slipjoint traditionals...

Hey, very curious about the kit so could you post the contents of it. I wanted to get an idea of a small kit to put together down the road when I start my hunting and fishing trips! Thx.
