The Mini AKB: Pocket Battleaxe

though I do love the work of the sarki , and the wooden sheaths, the thick leather is just great for when you want to carry one around all day and not ruin your original, i got a donated sheath with my kvluk , dunno if thats you pugs, i know there are tons of leather people around here(er, guys who make leather sheaths)
will let you know for sure ! , right now im trying to spend all my money on the steel itself :D ( and yes the wall will be grand though embarrassing if I try to think about how much money i spent on it !)

No sir not me, I dont remember who gave them but I think they were donated to Auntie. My version for it was this:

The minis that you folks are raving over look VERY impressive. One role I think they could fill nicely is that of Bug Out Bag knife. It's difficult to find a smaller profile blade that is tough enough for hacking, prying, slicing, etc., while not taking up too much space. The mini AK looks to be something close to a diminutive machete, and from everyone's input, I'd put one up against any Becker or comparable "hard use" knife in a modest size.

BTW ... My HI wish list is growing on a weekly basis, and I owe it to the cadre of HI enablers I encounter here on a regular basis. ;)

I'd put it up against anything out there. Think of it as a crow bar with a shaving edge. It's a brute. The big version I held in Reno shocked me, took my breath away. Just a beast. Difficult to compare to a machete cause it was probably close to 1/2" thick. The mini is a strong 3/8" usually but I'm sure they vary some too.
It's one tough go to work tool without question.

Probably sound like an enabler don't I. I apologize, I'm cursed with love for these things too.

this thread made about 4 sales I think( i had completely ignored the AKs

I blame it on Bush and Steely Gunz! He's the enabler and I think he's proud of it too.

Yes, the Kami Medical Fund Sheaths were donated. The credit goes to our very kind and generous fellow forumite, Mr. Steve Tall.
He's a good man, the kami's and auntie are very grateful for his help and for you all for purchasing them.

I donated some of the sheaths and somebody else from the forum (who wants to remain anonymous) donated the rest.

well im glad to buy them, and im glad to donate money period to this fine company--anyone in on trying to get together a 'new years' party for the birgorkha factory ? ( dunno what is best celebration for the local faith ) -- but im willing to put 50 or 100 in on that or just a medical drive for kamis and birgorkha without sheathes! this is really one of the only places you know your money goes to the people who need it.

Your a humble man Mr.Tall and I know you wished to be anonymous as well. I too thank you for your contribution to us the end users as well as helping Auntie and the Kami's.

I think we should all just add a bit when we can as we purchase to help. I know sometimes its all I can do to come up with enough to cover the blade and shipping but must strive to come up with a little bit more. They deserve it I think.

good call bawanna , a voluntary 5 or 10 dollars in additional handling donations could really add up for the kami's and their family's

Well color me super happy, happy, happy. A beautiful Mini AKB just hit my desk moments ago. It's just a delight to me from the minute it hit my hand. A beast, a full 3/8" where the blade meets the handle and tapers down both directions from there. The balance is superb to my untrained but fondling hands.
Beautiful fullers, just amazing. Once again my hats tipped to the Kami's who can produce these beautiful things for us to use and enjoy as tools or eye candy or a combination of both, and of course to Auntie who provides the pipeline to attain these things along with lots of history and background and support before and after the sale. Also thanks to Steely Gunz who initially ignited my burning desire to have one of these beauties. Blame it on Steely will be my battle cry far into the future.
A huge thank you to the person who sent me this incredible knife, per your wish's my lips are sealed but words can't describe how happy you've made me today along with the satisfaction that my wife isn't gonna beat the snot out of me. A win/win for me for sure.
I think this one is gonna be a full time companion, none of my humble collection of HI knives are ever far away but this one is gonna stay especially close. Maybe even on my daily belt if I can figure out a few logistics, if not there it'll be easy to mount someplace on the chair well urban camoflaged so I don't have to talk to my officer co workers on the very few times a year I visit a store etc.
I love this thing! Gotta go cut something.

This thread continually reminds me of why I have stayed here for so long. The people here something else. I am a firm believer in karma and it always comes around here. Bawanna I'm glad to see you got such a nice gift, enjoy it my friend.

awesome bawanna! ive been giving some willow trees the business near my house , they are giving ants bridges to my valuables, I did a check on the 6/26 mini AK but auntie has been busy so no word yet ! but hopefully its mine, in the meantime I had to order the fullsized ;( ( watches as the last of his bank account is alchemized into handmade knives)

I'm thinking this definitely deserves one of your leather outfits along with my Pen Knife. It'll be awhile though, I know I've been saying that for a spell but there's no way I could send this away just yet. We need to bond and work on our relationship. I actually have it setting here on my desk where I can look and touch and take in it's beauty.
Deputy Chief thinks it's a little overkill for a letter opener but I disagree, I think it's perfect.

Gehazi, auntie had them all in stock big and mini when I inquired a month ago. I don't know where she is, I miss her but upon her return I'm sure she'll have em headed your way lickety split.
I gotta look up alchemized but I suspect that's what happened to my bank account too.

Your going to love the full size one. The older versions had a spine thickness of 1/2 inch they were enormous. The newer ones that we are getting now are a tad thinner but perfect in my humble opinion. Great balance and feels alive in your hand.

yeah I have never run into a knife I did not love from HI, you can feel the soul in these things as soon as you lay hands on them- and bawanna - alchemized is from alchemy -- it just means taking something and making into something else in a metaphysical or spiritual sense -- alchemists were the guys who laid the foundations for chemistry trying to find out how to turn lead into gold-- so when I say alchemized I mean it as "turning something from one thing into another"

(also on custom sheath do we have to send off or can we do facsimile dimensions over internerd? or do you have to actually like stretch the leather over the knife ?)
