And speaking of karma, the post office said it would take 3 days to get here, I was kind of broken up cause I had it sent to work here at PD, no Saturday delivery. Then found it would arrive Saturday, I thought, gonna be a long long weekend but a great Monday but crossed my fingers and hoped and darned if it didn't make my day and arrive early.
Don't get a bit better than that.

Gehazi, auntie had them all in stock big and mini when I inquired a month ago. I don't know where she is, I miss her but upon her return I'm sure she'll have em headed your way lickety split.

I hear ya, most times mine are spread all over the couch and coffe table so I can look at them and hold em. When you are ready you send me the mini and I will take care of it. It will be my good karma to you as well. That way I get ya on the hook and you send me all your others for pants :) Send her when your ready.
 
I've only spoken with Pugs and he said he likes to have the knife in hand to assure a good proper fit. That was exactly the answer I wanted to hear. I make pistol grips and I'm the same way. Guys want to send me old grips and duplicate but I like to fit to the gun. Wouldn't have it any other way.

On a custom sheath you want the maker to ask for the blade, there are to many variables to consider especially with our beloved HI's. I actually make a template of your blade to cut the leather then use the blade during the fitting, to me its the only way to do it and it's truly custom.
 
and bawanna makes custom pistol grips? does he realize gehazi has a revolver collection? pugs you make holsters too?

I have not made any holsters, seems like a ton of work to me. Bawannandoes some really nice work from the pics I have seen.
 
My Mini AK and I continue to bond and we're getting along just fine. It speaks to me through out the day, sometimes softly and sometimes not so softly.

Right now it's screaming I want stag handles to me! Now I'm a sucker for stag, nothing new there but how did this knife know that?

Question for those wiser than I, ok everybody here. Would it be sacrilege to put stag on this beauty. It's perfectly lovely as is, and frankly stag would be a challenge since the handle isn't just a slab/flat. It's tapered and would be a challenge. BUT wouldn't it be a heck of a cowboy knife with stag?

I just don't want to cross the kami's over there, cross lines or do wrong by them. They use horn and bone. Stag is a bone ain't it?

Guess I'm just looking for wisdom, opinions, grounding. I don't know what I'm looking for.

It would not be sacrilege, the kamis won't mind. The knife is yours. Make it how you want it.
The kamis have also used spotted deer, whitetail and elk antler over the years.
 
I made me a kydex sheath for the Mini AK. I've done better in the past, but it's functional and my main purpose was to experiment with ride height on the belt and determine if there's a potential for everyday uniform carry. I think there is, wife seems to think it's a bit (ok she said ALOT) too big.
Was all set to go to Pugs for new leather but will hold till end of the month.
Thought I had a picture to go with this but guess not. I'll try to take one tonight. I wore it for awhile around the house last night and it felt good to me. Ole Crocodile Dundee's line "this is a knife" was playing on a loop in my brain.
I tell the guys it's a crow bar I can shave with. Heck of a knife. Still like to hold it and admire it think of stuff to cut, of which I don't think there is any limitation. It'll handle anything and beg for more.
I have to constantly remind myself I'm not Rambo, I'm a half man in a wheelchair dreaming vertical man dreams of living in the bush. But it's good, darn good. Guess I'll admire my Pen Knife now so I don't wear out the Mini AK!
Plenty of knife love to go around.
 
Here's my kydex test sheath that although not pretty actually fits the Mini quite well. It actually snaps in and snaps out.
I didn't cut the extra bungy cord since it's just temporary. I wore it all day today and nobody called it on me, so I'll try it again tomorrow. I can be kind of a rabble rouser sometimes.
