The Most Expensive Knife You Carry

That would be one end of the spectrum, there are some folks that collect others that just use their knives. Nt all are the same.

I used to be into collecting custom hunting knives, with no intention of ever using them. I don't really need a hunting knife to use but I did pick out one that I thought I could use if I ever needed one.

But OTOH all of the folding knives I buy are intended to be used, and I do carry them.

The most I have spent on a knife for carry is a used ZT0561, but I prefer buying EDC knives for less than $150.

I've been carrying my green pm2 sprint, even though if I mess it up I will never, ever be able to get a replacement...

Same here- I was able to buy one of the last of the first run from KW. I had complained about flippers so much that I decided I have to keep this one and use it, not sell it if I see something else I want. It is interesting to have a knife that is immune from being sold, it frees me up to use it without so much worry. If I lost it I would not buy a replacement at secondary market prices, but I will still have an S30V PM2 to carry.

I carried and lightly used (like, two cuts) the spyderco ATR I had. Definitely pretty rare, sold it for a good amount even lightly used.

Now it's my new benchmade 32

Most of my collection consists of folders in the $100-$200 range. Ironically, the knives I carry most (without hesitation or regret) are my most expensive...

CRK Large Sebenza 21 Insingo, Small Sebenza 21 Insingo, Mnandi

I carry other folders once in a while, but it's not long before I go back to my CRK's (the Small Insingo in particular.) I'm also a big fan of traditionals and also carry the most expensive one I own, a Case/Tony Bose Coffin Jack.

carry my dalibor sirius everyday. a turpin folder was in my pocket for a few weeks but its back at dustins spa right now. I like to get my moneys worth by carrying and enjoying. I have had other knives that I sold instantly because they were too pretty to carry though.

My PM2,Mini barrage, or a ZT is about as "classy" as I'm going for edc. Occasionally, will carry my Tabor custom. I would cry if I scratched my Mini Infidel or one of my Microtechs, lol.

If you include the price of custom scales, then I have a mini grip that is the most expensive. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1399601345.297020.jpg

My every day user is a Benchmade 2011 Prototype Triage. I've used it more than any knife I own and can't leave home without it.

With the custom scale, this one is probably my most expensive folder. And I carry it every day :)

Pretty much my weekday.. Go to work knife is my custom Mel Pardue.

Mammoth and damascus is one sweet knife..

I carey (see what I did there ;) ? ), among others, a Peter Carey custom that apparently (aka: from what I've been told) has an approximate value of $4K. I honestly tried not carrying it but, to be honest, it is SO beautiful (to me) that I can't keep myself from bringing it along.

Mine are nearly all in the $150-200 range. While I could certainly "afford" to spend more, that seems to be my comfort zone. I tend to rotate among ZT 0801, 0770CF, Birk 75, PM2, Sage 1 and Hogue EX 02.

I have in my rotation a Willumsen Perock as my priciest carry piece.

Ritter Mini-Grip with Wilkins scales is probably the most expensive knife I have that has seen regular use. I have a few that cost more that get put to use, but not as regular as this one.

$65 shipped :o CS Mini Recon 1. Also carry a $38 Large Voyager (probably the most), $20 Vic Camper, and large trapper slipjoint found by the side of the road.
