I was sweating and struggling on these gravel road hills. And all he did was play

This was my turn around point for the day. Absolutely amazing to see in person.

If you look through the tunnel right past it to the left I found miles of awesome mountain bike trails.

56 miles of gravel trail and a few of real trails and I want a new seat :p

8 miles at the end in pitch dark, deer jumping out in front of me, raccoons running on the trail...

Thanks for any feedback on the seat J

Fizik Gobi

I googled, thats a seat right? :)

I want to get a new seat in the mail for my next ride this weekend. So I am looking for any and all suggestions. I want to keep with the MTB style, but I need more comfort for these long rides.

Thanks guys, I know its not the most interesting topic.

Thanks J for the comment, it was a beautiful day, lots of historic sites.

You could go to a bike shop and get measured and then shop for that width seat. I believe it's Specialized dealers that have the device.

Never tried the Specialized, Measuring seems like a smart way to go since it's so subjective. My favorite so far was the Brooks Professional. Not rainproof however.

Regarding saddles-

I no expert, but I've logged a lot miles in the saddle both road and mountain.

IMHO, the best saddle for your manhood is a VERY firm one that is wide enough to line up with your sit-bones (that's a real term used in cycling), and no wider. The manhood problems occur when you sink into a mushy saddle and all the soft parts down there get compressed. I use a Fizik on my road bike. With a mountain bike you can go a little softer because your not in a static position for hours on end.

All very helpful info guys, thanks. It is a personal topic I guess. Never thought into it much before when I road purely trails.

I think my issue is the sit-bone pain. Not to get to personal, but thats where the problem is.

Looking into the right size saddle, thanks again for the help.

My GF says she wants to ride a road bicycle... in fact, it doesn't sound any bad to me...

As for the saddle, Richstag, I agree with Beanbag. A firm one is what everyone needs, male or female. It's simply less health threatening. All you have to do is to endure and get used to it in the begining. Once you handle this, it has more advantages than a soft saddle.

Rode around on some deer trails through the swamp. Really soft and bumpy. But the weather is great.

I figured out the answer to my saddle issue...Stop sitting on my ass..

I went for a shorter ride with my girl today. Took the road to get to the woods. Then a few miles through cornfields to get to the trails.

Here is the opening and first downhill to the easier trails

Last time I took my girl back here she was walking her bike MOST of the time. She tried though.

This time I wanted to build her confidence so she would enjoy it.

Another shot of the trail in another easy spot.

Here is a pretty crazy uphill and lots of fun downhill. Much more technical and steeper then it looks.

It was a good ride. Quite a few long mudded areas from horses. I stopped taking pics after I started getting muddy and having lots of fun.

I have to say I will not look back on the pedals. Absolutely amazing and I am able to climb like never before. AMAZING.

Then we went on about a five mile back country road ride. Great day.

My bike really stepped up on this ride and impressed me quite a few times. Man I miss riding in the woods.

Bought the boy a new bike for his 9th birthday,,, he had outgrown his previous one,,, nothing too fancy, but his choice and he's happy with it !
