The "Name that Plant" Game

Leaves in the spring fruit in the fall.

Of course Doc.
The young leaves are great raw or stuffed and cooked.
The fruit is edible, if sour.
It is not the same as the wine grape, but you can ferment it. Better with added sugar or honey to make a sweet wine. Add some citrus and you get a passable sangria.
Sometimes dried grapes on the vine are available food in the winter for birds or humans.
You're up Doc.

Bear with me - I'm still learning about Image Shack.

This is not a native plant but was introduced to be used in the textile industry. It has bluish-purply flowers.

I use this plant for: hand drill for friction fire
-holder for Cattail smudge
-part of a fish gaff

-parts for a small trap (Arapuca)
-inspirator for a fire
-small container for tinder, etc.

Some other interesting stuff:

-the upper leaves join to form a basin in which rainwater collects, and this structure inspired the plant's other common names, Venus' basin and water thistle. The water was once believed to be cooling to inflamed eyes and was recommended "as a cosmetic to render the face fair." The Greek physician Dioscorides maintained that the root had a cleansing property and advocated boiling the root in wine and applying the decoction to fistulas and warts. Other early herbalists favored a root tea as an appetite stimulant, a remedy for jaundice, and a diuretic.

Here is an edible and medicinal plant. The leaves have a pretty tart flavor.
Its considered a noxious weed by many. It grows in fields, grasslands, and woodlands. It prefers moist soil, so it thrives in floodplains and near marshes.

I only guessed that cause of the hand drill hint.

This game is really fun, I hope everyone including the guys not posting are enjoying it:)

Hey GS, I took that picture a couple of days ago, so that's what it looks like right now.

I am 95% sure I know this one, but I will let someone else answer this.

Unless ofcourse, I can't wait any longer.....

This plant is supposed to contain more Omega-3 fatty acids than any other leafy vegetable plant.
Come on people, this plant grows everywhere
