An important identifying aspect for chamomile is that it smells like apples, especially if you bruise the leaves.

Berries and leaves are both edible, but the leaves are best in early spring, before they become too tough. Berries have similar medicinal properties to asperin.
 
That would be wintergreen, one of the few edible plants I've been able to find in winter. Very refreshing.

camomile where do you find these plants? any in NC?
 
The nuts from this tree are usually quite yummy. And the wood is often used for tool handles.

this one is not ripe yet.. but in a dew weeks the fruits will be ready for the picking.. One of my personal favorites..this plant grow wild in deciduous patches of woodland, it is often encountered by hikers.. and is also a cultivated plant.

Looks like wineberry to me. Delicious, I know a few places in Harriman to find them.
 
Is that Shagbark hickory? I always heard Shagbark the bark only came off one end and on Shellbark it came off both.

Also shagbark has 5 leaflets like Pignut right?? Shellbark has 7?

How about a hint: part of the name of this plant is taken from the coloring of the leaves.
