I thought this would be a easy one. No takers. Heres a hint its common name comes from a magical fruit that makes you toot.

Crap, I was thinking it was a plum of some sort :o:D

Will have to take a revised look at this later

Aquacopter, is that a poisonous plant? It doesn't grow around here (at least I don't think so :o ) but it looks familiar.

Doc

You could be close with the plum thought. I know the fruits are edible but I don't know about the plant or roots.

Aqua,
I won't guess on the name because I'm not sure. I've eaten something very similar only it has green fruits that taste like a big, fat pea. It's sad to say but I don't know what it's actually called.
Later,
Iz

Have I stumped the masses? If I don't get an answer by tomorrow night I will post the name for the sake of the thread, and then we can get on to another.

Haha, haven't had a ton of time to try and research it, and I definitely don't recognize it. I hope someone can nail it :) Maybe a few more hints?

I'm going to be offline most of the time for the next 3-4 weeks, hope to see this thread continuing when I get back :D

The plant in the picture is part of the legume family and gets its name from a Herd animal of the prairie. Hope this helps. I really enjoy this thread and want to see it live.

Cmon Doug, you can get this  The flower above might help.

Another hint, if aquacopter doesn't mind me helping out (haha, hope I'm correct):

This plant can be confused with the toxic locoweed plant, so should not be eaten unless you're absolutely certain of its identity.

No dice...ugh...I am usually pretty good at this game.

Aqua...what, if anything at all, is it used for?

I have no problem with help. I was always told to keep an open ear and mind to anyone willing to help because you will always learn something. You all now so much more about plants than me I have been enjoying learning from all of you.

Well besides the fruit being edible and tasting like a juicy bean I don't know of any utilitarian or medicinal uses pertaining to humans. The Lakota considered it good medicine for their horses.
