The new Case Bose teardrop

Ok guys. I literally just walked in the back door with a brand new pocket worn red teardrop jack. Give me a few minutes and we'll see if I can get some decent pictures. I'm stoked!

I think I'm going to have to make an exception to my moratorium on new knives ......

This knife was also going to be my only exception to a similar moratorium this year, particularly if there were a 2-blade version in a handle material I like. However, the more I look at it the less appealing it is. The blade-to-handle length looks off to me.

I may still end up with one eventually but there doesn't seem to be any urgency to it. Since this will be a standard production pattern going forward, I can wait.

Oh man, can't wait to see those pics!!! Did you get a look at any of the one's in ebony?

Nice picture Vet68. What photo editing program do you use to get the faded borders on your pictures? Interesting presentation. I use MS Paint and don't think that option is available.

There is a dealer's site (not a paid BF dealer sponsor) showing a Bose Case Teardrop with end caps - I believe nickle-silver. Very sharp looking - no pun intended.

The versions with bolsters on both ends are the ebony, stag, and the red pocket worn. Still waiting for Warfield to show his. I use Photoshop.

Sorry guys I got low on blood sugar and had to go eat. Here's a picture. Not a good one, best I can do for now. I just can't seem to get the colors to show up. This picture doesn't do the knife any justice at all.

If you look at G P Knives, a paid sponsor here on Blade Forums, you can see a much better picture of my knife along with a couple others.

Looks like it could be a winner.

I was surprised actually on how much it resembles a Doc Hagen that I have, but I guess it's a pretty well known pattern.

Good stuff.

Here's the Hagen.

That's a beauty, Joe. I've always liked the Wharncliffe/pen Teardrop that many of the slipjoint makers offer.

The blade/handle ratio is worrisome, as is the pointed tail end, which contributes to it. I'm going to have to see one in real life.

Maybe it should. I think there is a rather large difference in price.

Oh yes, for sure. I didn't intend to try and slight the Case model. I was trying to favorably compare it to a custom. I'm looking forward to seeing this new model. Sorry if it came off the wrong way.

Seems to me, and maybe it's just me, that sometimes the Case knives I buy are a little hit or miss on build quality. Not all, just here and there which I guess is to be expected to some degree. I'm hoping this is a good one for Case.

I just put my name in the hat for the single blade ebony. What sold me was when in the video Tony said, "Don't feel like a potato in your pocket, ya know".:D
