The new Mora 2010 model, pictures.

While checking out the Mora knives on EBay I found a model that I have not seen before, the 2010. Mine has arrived and I have had a chance to check it out for a couple of days. This is a pretty cool knife; the stainless blade is 4” long and .098 thick just ahead of the handle, the knife measures about 9” overall in length. The blade is ground in the same manner as the Mora 2000, scandi grind at the rear and a flatter grind toward the front. The molded plastic sheath has a swiveling belt loop for those that find that sort of thing handy, and the sheath holds the knife securely. The handle fits my hand very comfortably and is covered with some sort of firm rubber that provides a secure grip that is very resistant to slipping. There are molded in ribs on the top of handle both front and rear and the front ones are located far enough forward to give the thumb some extra traction if it is placed on top of the handle.

I like that, I wonder if the blade is exactly the same as the Mora 2000, ie the tangs the same length etc ?

Joezilla, yes, that's right.

pitdog and dc50, I will try to post a picture side by side with a 2000 in the morning. The blade is shorter than the 2000.

i emailed the distributer listed on mora's website and they said they should be clearing customs this week and be just under 50 bucks. she is out of phoenix i think there site is scandi international or something. just thought id share

My money is on it being the same blade and tang as the 2000; just different handle and sheath. And I think both are an improvement. :thumbup:
