The new Mora 2010 model, pictures.

There is not much wrong with Mora stainless, although I would love to see these in a carbon version. Thats a really cool knife with a much prettier handle! How is the texture on the rubber?

Joezilla, the rubber has a grippy feel but not quite as grippy feeling as the Allround model. I find the handle very comfortable and secure feeling in my hand and I like the larger finger guard area which makes it feel a little "safer" than the clipper models to me. I also wish it was carbon steel.

That looks like a clipper morphed with a Mora 2K..I like it, but the MORA2K is still a standout blade...and the original handle is more traditional in shape that this one..I bet this one is a great knife..but the original handle offer a bunch of hand holds...and grips. I doubt you could go wrong with either one..
So thanks for showing me another knife to buy:rolleyes::D

I like this more than the M2K I think, just looking at the pictures. I will be getting one as soon as I can, I hope!

I went to the Bay...I now have one on the way:thumbup:

Think I'll do a vinagaroo job for it.....

Cool Bill! Thanks for the input

Tell her you heard about it on the forums

I think you must have bought it from her if you bought it on ebay.

The blade is pretty unique but it's a bit of optical illusion. It's a scandi grind knife. The angle of the bevel is the same all the way up the blade. The reason the bevel is smaller toward the tip is because Mora grinds a taper to the blade. Because there is less steel as you approach the tip the long bevel disappears.

Think about it like this. If you had a 1/4" thick blade with a scandi grind (pick your angle, it doesn't matter) the bevel would be relatively tall. If you ground the sides thinner, the bevel would get shorter but wouldn't change.

Mora just thinned out the area at the end and it made the bevel go away.

I like the look and they definitely perform. Good stainless steel with good geometry. Cheap to boot.

Ya know, as much as I like this new one...and I'm sure I'm going to buy one...It just makes me appreciate the old 2000 even more with that good straight handle...and I still don't own one of those, just because of that puke green color. What were they thinking?

But I think I'm going to snap up a 2000 first because I think they will soon become scarce (but that's just me pumping up the market :D ) And then I'll buy a 2010 because the price will come down. In either configuration, I think its a great blade design and I plan to own one or both soon.

I'm also a big fan of Mora Clippers and recently bought the Allround which I recommend highly for a stainless blade. Where does the sickness stop? :D

The handle is the same as the KJ Eriksson #911 and #946. #911 (carbon) is bottom left, and the #946 (stainless) is bottom right:

I find the handles have a great feel to them. I prefer these handles over the other Eriksson rubber handles, and over the Mora Clipper and Allround handles. Adding the Mora 2000-type blade is a nice touch, but I do not think the price should exceed that of the Mora 2000. I will wait for Ragnar to acquire the model before I consider a purchase.

Thanks for the heads up on that. I want to snag one of these, and I don't like using the Bay.

It took me forever before I finally got a 2000--all because of that ugly handle. Now that I've owned it awhile, it's weird looks have grown on me. I like everything about the knife. I probably won't spring for the 2010.

I actually really like the handle shape of the M2K and find it to be versatile. The color I can easily live with, but if you cannot then they are now making an orange version, too.

The 2010 looks great, but seems out of line for price. I like that it has a secure sheath, but the M2K has a decent very functional sheath, albeit ugly.

They need to make an M2K with the 2010's 4" blade. They could call it the M2Kage if they like and send me only 50% of all profits for coming up with a great name and improved design (for my needs, at least)!

Same here.
The new one looks better and has a couple of improvements, but I'd still prefer the older one in terms of shape.

The blade is probably the same pattern partially reground. Just hope they won't phase out the 2000 although unlikely.

About a carbon steel version, some member had contacted Mora some times ago about the idea, they said they could make a run if they had enough demand. Maybe we could organize a subscription or something.

I dig the blade a lot (given my love for the M2K blade) but I can't make up my mind about the handle. As a rule I don't like a concavity on the bottom of the handle as viewed from the side.
