I've heard of that Garden of the Gods before. Looks like that was a good time of year to catch it!

Also got my Fallkniven WM1 back with Kiahdex sheath, will add pics later. EE Quilt should be arriving later this month. I have a few more big items to pick up over the course of this year, but then I should be set for a long time: Neoair and SOLite, Patagonia R1 Hoody, Evernew 1.3L pot, BearVault 500, Montbell Alpine Light or UL Parka or something in Primaloft One, and hopefully a Trail Designs Ti-Tri Sidewinder to nest in my Evernew 1.3. If I can squeeze it in, maybe a MLD Burn and Ultimate Direction PB Vest or the 20L model they'll be putting out sometime in the next year or two.

Wow, that's quite a haul! Which quilt did you get? The 20* Evolution is sooo tempting to me..
Those ULA packs are nice. Didn't quite feel right for me, but I got to play with a Circuit and Catalyst when pack shopping before getting my Exos.

I got the 30* RevX 6', Wide (sometimes side sleeper and toss&turner), olive out black in. Almost went with another oz overfill to take it to 30%, but ultimately decided not to. The 30* standard should take me down to 25 or thereabouts already since I'm a warm sleeper, and I can most likely push it down into the teens since I'll supplement with clothing insulation if needed. I decided to cut a little weight and just stick to the standard overfill since most of my trips even into winter in the Bay Area are relatively mild, rarely getting much below freezing. And Tim's improved Karo baffles don't have shift problems anymore. If camping in the Sierra or something in the dead of winter, I may bring my 25* bag to ensure draft elimination.

If I had a money tree, I'd have bought the 20* or 0* Rev and a 40* Rev so I could pick one for either warm or cold weather and have lighter quilts to boot. Hell, I'd even consider the Epiphany, though I don't think I'm ready for vapor barrier techniques yet. 30* is a good compromise for my typical trips so far (and I like that it's more of a clothing+sleep system anyway for this warm sleeper), and the cosmetic seconds 30d of the RevX is more affordable while being a little more durable for the long haul. If you get the 20* Rev, let me know how you like it!

Re: pack. Yeah, I'm coming from a Talon 44. I researched the past few months or half a year and the Exos 58 was up there on the list. I ultimately decided to try the Circuit as the Exos line just didn't seem to work for me in person. There's a place near me in Santa Cruz that sells ULA packs, and ideally I would have gone down there to try it on before ordering, but I thought it worth the risk since it seems to have a pretty broad user-base and it should be easy to flip on BPL or something if it doesn't work out. So far, I don't think it's going anywhere; initial impressions are really, really, good. Just have to hit the trail with it for the real test. Playing with it at home, it already feels like a great match.

ETA: Oh yeah, I've also got a Zpacks drybag pack liner in 1oz cuben coming. It's crafted to fit perfectly in the Circuit, and it should protect my stuff from wetness well, even if I don't decide to add more insurance with smaller cuben drybags just for my quilt and insulating clothing.

At Franklin Lake, Sequoia NP. Since I visit it regularly, if I were to call one place in the Sierras home, this would be it.

Where the rock fades out of view under the water it is at least 20' deep; you could see deeper, but the rock turns vertical and disappears

Next place I'll visit when I'm back in Sequoia! (not counting your big trip if I make it) I almost went there instead of Mosquito Lakes last year before the Monarch Lakes trip.

Fallkniven WM1 with Kiahdex Sheath Systems sheath. I'm reasonably certain this will be my go to backpacking knife.

Ugh. Been so busy with work, projects, and other stuff that outside time has been minimal for the past few weeks. Next weekend will break the cycle finally, should be able to get in at least a day hike or two. Can't wait.

Amazing shots lambertiana. Not at all how I pictured the Sequoia NP (being semi close to Barstow and all).

Sweet pics of the mountain lakes and new knife!
I am computerless, and hoping the separate hard drive hasn't actually been emptied of content like it showed before the computer crashed(may have lost most of my pics from the last 3 years, if so).
May be a little while before I put up any new pics, but I'll still be taking them!:D

It IS a backup external. I just tried it on a computer at work. Shows that it still has a lot of content, but none of it is viewable, no folders, nothing. I'll have to turn it over to my buddy who fixes this kind of stuff.

Huh, that's weird. It shows disk space is being used but you aren't able to access it? I'm assuming you've run basic disk checks and repairs already? Did you check if the files were hidden for some reason?

The computer itself acts like it's got nothing on it. Disk check shows all files corrupted. Repairs don't work.
The external drive shows nothing. I can actually create new folders, and use the remaining memory. Aside from the properties showing the memory use, it reads as an empty drive.
It's not a big deal. I'll get a new hard drive or computer, and have plenty of pics on imageshack and Facebook-more than I keep up with, or look at.
