A fine craft indeed sir. I believe our very own Biscuit paddles one. You are screwed now though. You can take big knives paddle camping. And other necessities such as rum in large quantities. :D

Scimitar by name.

i just filled it with chlorinated water, and sterilized it. musty. eww.

the keel is bent. it's 95% straight. will have to dismount and hammer flat.

as well, the delrin is "cracked"... probably when it ejected off the car of previous owner ;)

amusingly, it doesn't leak from the water test er cleaning.

i'll probably tinker on it. silicone the screw heads. replace the lines. stainless BOLT hardware in a couple spot instead of screws.

is good

you know those chinese stainless remoras?

i made one stain, and rust

bwa hah hah

a summer of moisture and opening chlorine, boom...

:D

I have been carrying a leatherman for a few months, and has some some surface rust. I think it is the bead blast finish they put on them.

well, the NEW stainless ones, are perfect.

the D2 eskabar? perfect

the highly rated super alloy BK77? perfect

god, cover those with hobo blood, and nothing happens! i mean, gypsy tears won't touch it. awesome!

Pretty strange the way steel acts. I have had an s30v Spyderco rust on me, but I am not sure any of my 1095 Beckers or customs in O-1 have ever shown any red rust, other than on the handle bolts. However, I don't currently have any stainless or D-2 Beckers to compare.

I had a stripped BK14 that got dropped behind the washer and got wet and sat for months. It had heavy red rust and I was pretty sure it was going to be jacked up. It cleaned right up with no pitting at all.

What? Are you crazy?! Everyone knows that a rusty knife has to be thrown away.

Next, you're going to tell me that you use it.

My Machax has been outside, in its sheath for a couple months.

The candiru was my favorite Esee knife.... The only one i liked really.... besides the BK14 collaboration

It was just small.... Now i kind of wish i Kept it lmao....... Really I miss my BK11... I hope you treating her well Cold!!!!

Very comfortable for such a small blade. I really like my ESEE 3 as well.

The Becker micarta is canvas (layers of heavy cloth in the resin) micarta, gives a nice grippy finish. Those high end blades are done in paper micarta - you guessed it - with much thinner, smoother layers in the resin, so you get a much smoother finished product.

Canvas micarta can also be sanded and buffed to a very fine, glossy finish... assuming it was made by a pro and is fully saturated/cured. Homemade stuff can be a bit more problematic.

I go through at least 1 2-liter a day but most the time i polish off 2 a day. If im drinking cans a 12 pack is gone by supper. And another 12 pack is gone by the time the wife gets up for work.

Your dentist must love that. Between the sugar and the acid, you're going to end up buying him a pretty decent used car one of these days :D

There is even a rougher version that uses burlap, which I really like the design of.

The burlap stuff looks awesome. There's also some kevlar "micarta" out now that looks pretty cool too. I haven't worked with either... yet.

Guitar tuner. I got one that I use. Works great. No fuss, and no sass.

I've always used this one:

The handy thing about is it you can run it off a wall outlet, and run power from it to all your other pedals. No more batteries dying in the middle of a gig.

I didn't really want the candiru when I got that 11 from you, figured I would turn it around and sell it.. I ended up getting micarta scales for it and made a new necklace from ball chain inside paracord.. :) It is an awesome little knife! The 11 is living the good life in my 3 day pack, I am hoping to take it out for a spin sometime soon. Just waiting for the heat to break down here, can't do a lot during the day unless you fell like dripping sweat the whole time. Sunday is opening day for dove season in my zone so will finally get some outdoors time.

Sweet man! Im glad they are working out for you!!!

I just got a new Becker in... 10 seconds ago :)

Thanks Jonny! These scales makes the knife even more comfortable. They have extra width to them, and feel awesome in the hand!!
