Anybody know of a good sling shot for about 20.00 bucks.. I found a couple on fleabay but I don't buy from honk Kong...

Speaking of sling shots have you seen the guy on YouTube who makes his own big bad ass sling shots? Do a search for Machete Sling Shot....and yes, I'm serious. Dude makes a sling shot that shoots machetes. In addition to that, he makes gatling style slingshots; crazy powerful slingshots; and even a rapid fire slingshot with a magazine that holds hex nuts for ammo.

Technical Question:

Most of the micarta scales I see on here is the rough surface type. But for some other high end blades I see micarta that is smooth and mirror like in finish and look. What is done differently to the smooth micarta?

As said earlier, Becker's micarta scales are made from canvas. Sanded to a low-medium grit they are rough and grippy. You can also get the canvas micarta to be slick and shiny. Just sand, progressively, through the grits up to 600-800 and see how you like it. If you want smoother, go higher. 1000, 1200, 2000, 3000. You can even go higher than that with specialized sanding pads used for finishing turned ink pens but its futile to take it past 2000.

The next finer in production micarta is linen and the finest is paper. There is even a rougher version that uses burlap, which I really like the design of.

You can make your own using everything from cotton fabric, to construction paper, to wads of yarn.

I dunno what its all about. but here we are.

Guitar tuner. I got one that I use. Works great. No fuss, and no sass.

DerekH this ones for you! No mods to factory sheath, ready for the blackhawk quick release system. Added some custom attachments for the maxpedition gear.

What does it mean on a folder when they say lock up is at 40% or 70% or whatever? Does that mean it doesnt fully lock?

Its how far the lock bar goes over into the blade. Give me a few minutes and ill snap a few pics.

Sweet man thanks! I dont know jack about folders lmao

The kershaw cryo is still my only folder lol

They can usually be modified by sanding the back of the blade a little to get a fuller lock. Fine tuning if you will.

Sweetness. Maybe I should make a new holster for the new Q... I've been thinking about making one with an integral sheath for my BK11.

Best I could do for now. 3 folders, Top is a spyderco sage 2, middle is a ZT0350 (not a framelock but the same concept applies), and the bottom is a small sebenza. The sage 2 is at about 45-50%, the 0350 is at about 50%, and the sebbie is around 75-80% (the picture makes it look worse then it actually is, but it hasn't moved in about a year)

Im getting my stuff ready for my camping trip friday and I was adding a few things to my survival sheath and took a quick picture...

It weighs 889.3 grams loaded up, and here is whats inside...DMT diamond sharpener card, There is 2 sets of fishing tackle, large hooks folded up in the paper at the bottom middle 4 different fire starters plus 2 sets of snare wire, duct tape and magnifier bottom right, everything else is self explanatory

Thanks man!! That made it real easy to understand with those pictures!!

Dubs - good to see it out getting some sun!

Thanks man. I'm no expert feather sticker dude, but this blade makes it easy, as most scandi's do. The stick was very dry too. I love this knife. When I'm not using it, I'm always checking it out. I was telling Kathy the other day that I check that one out more than my BOB, haha. It's a cool knife, thanks again brother.

Looks pretty good, but I don't see a Becker in there anywhere. What are you going to do for a knife? :D

Lmao I have 4 cutters there and 2 arrowheads... but if that is not enough, My Bk14 with the scales and sheath that Cam made for me is never far away :)

I have a few new knives to test out, I was thinking of taking the Bk17 I got coming in from jonny but I will already be taking 6 knives. And I want to test out my new Busse, At like .32 thick its a heavy monster. I want to see how it chops! And i need to put the Chopweiler to work! I got it home all the way from Germany, now it needs some wood to eat.

Man that's my kinda blade, I like it a lot!

It is sweet 710. Big ass handle that fits my hand, that, coupled with a shorter blade makes leverage like you can't believe. Very well thought out blade, imo.
