It's a coal forge.
I started to make a brake drum into a forge, but had second thoughts about coal for fuel. No coal sources on the west coast that I'm aware of... started looking at the gas burners. I even considered wood. I can get pallets.

I'm into the new department and shifts . I picked a good time to make the change, because they have dumped the training for the systems in the 2 new buildings so I am staying 5 extra hours a day . The night shift is not a problem. The extra 10 hours have been tiring. I left my tool cart in the old shop because it is set up for plumbing. I was handed a Klein backpack with tools in the new shop . In reality 90% of the time I can get by with the tools carry in my Condor pocket organizer . 4 in. Adjustable wrench, small straight/Phillips screwdriver, Leatherman Crunch, 4 in. 1/4-5/16th bit driver thermometer, tickle stick , machinist rule, sharpie and pen.

What's a tickle stick?

Stopped by my semi-local pawn shop. They had 4 of the Ka-Bar wrench knives. Fun to finally hold one, but not worth it for me.

But that P365XL they had...not sure how long I can resist that.
