Hey Td, if your still looking for the roll stamped 14 I'd look at cutlery shoppe, I ordered a 14 from the about a month ago and that's what they sent me

My apologies, that's not what I'm trying to express at all. "Whatever works for you" is exactly what I meant, nothing more and nothing less. I completely understand your point of view. I readily admit that I often come off as an arrogant prick without even meaning to. On the other hand, if I were to make fun of you, you probably wouldn't have to wonder if I was or not ;)

On the other other hand, maybe it's not my fault at all, and you're just paranoid :D snark

I see what you mean. I come off as a prick more than you though I suspect. This forum has been the best and worst of me ever since I have been here. And sometimes I'm not sure if I know how to deal with it, or even sure if I should deal with it. There are a few people here who have met me, spent time with me and know what sort of person I am. Sometimes its difficult to convey that personality though text. I play many things in my life pretty close to the chest and this place is no different. All is well.

GFY means "good for you" right? :P

I only use FB to keep in touch with distant friends and family and enter contests. That being said, I've also subscribed to a few news outlets on both sides, and it keeps me more up to date with current events than I would be otherwise. I tend to be totally oblivious, left to my own devices. It also reminds me of important events in my friends' lives. I would never remember anyone's birthday, for instance. It's certainly got some benefits, but I'll be the first to admit that it's not for everyone, and I do blame social media at least in part for the decline in our society. But no more on that front so as to respect the forum.

I despise status updating, and Twitter can <insert uncomplimentary phrase about what Twitter can do with itself here>. I also don't like putting private photos and stuff on FB.

I think facebook is like the Borg. You can fight it all you want, but it's sneaking into more and more aspects of society and life, and sooner or later...you will be assimilated.

Love that Borg reference! I just got FB because it was a great way to stay connected while I was deployed. But it got out of control after they changed it so many times. It seemed like an exercise in futility after that, and I was back from the sand so I dumped it. I have not missed it. I don't dislike people who use it, I just rib em a bit for being part of the big machine.
 
My wife is a big Trekkie. I admit, I'm more of a Star Wars guy (and I wager that Qeth is as well). But it does make for some good references.

With regards to Defacedbook, IMO, the thing is, it's tough to stay connected with friends if they only use FB to stay connected with people. So you have to choose between a friend and the machine. I'm not going to criticize one way or another whatever you choose (albeit I will mock you if you change your mind 5 years from now).
 
OK, Have I been blind or has there always been a little circle beside your log-in name that is green if you're on line and clear if you're not?? I just noticed it about 5 minutes ago. :o
