Yeah... That's the one I'm looking at.... You're not helping at all...

Doc
I think it's helping.....but just not in the way you think. When you have one in your hand you'll understand.

That RAT-1 was brand new when I left the apartment this morning. As I was sticking other knives in the stump it fell out and went tumbling down some dirt and rocks with the blade open. Didn't hurt it, but as it was happening I was a little concerned.

Came too sharp from the factory, did it?

I don't often say this, but DAMN it feels good to be a gangsta! (in the kitchen)

Made carnitas from scratch, then made refried beans (yes by mashing up once cooked beans and then cooking them again), and made spanish rice (by mashing up spain and cooking... wait a second) It was A-FRICKIN-MAZING supper!

OK, mirame delicioso. But all I can think otherwise is that you seem to have an abundance of free time.....at least as seen through the peeps of this old faht father of two....
......seriously, though.....there better have been someone there to share that with. Otherwise, that's Culinary Master Baitin' raightchair.

To be honest, that took me about 30 minutes to make. Threw the pork loin in the crock pot with 4 cups of chicken stock, 1 large onion sliced, 2 jalapeño sliced, chipotle, horseradish, garlic, cinnamon, cracked fresh pepper, paprika, in the crock pot for 6 hours.

The beans that I made was a LARGE can of pinto beans, a small can of black beans, rinsed, while in the pan is 3-4 slices of bacon that was diced up small, throw the beans into the pan when the bacon was cooked hard, then add in 2 ladles of the pork loin jus. Cover it and cook for 20 minutes.

The rice was 3 cups of water, a cup of pork loin jus, 2 cups of jasmine rice, a tablespoon of butter, and chipotle, paprika, garlic, onion, salt, and pepper.

If you start the pork at Noon, start the beans at 5:30 and the rice at 5:40, it will all finish at the same time.

So I picked up this DPX HEST 2.0 folder in a trade last week.
Pretty beefy knife. It's impressed me so far.

I didn't know much about the maker so I decided to do some research.
RYP seems to be quite a mover and a shaker.
Then I found out he had a forum here that didn't end well to say the least.
Not too sure how I feel about that. Not sure I would have picked up this blade had I known what I know now.

Oh well, I'm glad I got a chance to test out this knife beforehand without any bias.
It really is a good knife. I'll beat the hell out of it.

Esee is a supporter of the HEST. I believe they made one of the first ones. Plus AIG is a fan of RYP. There was even a rumor of AIG going on a trip with him I believe.

I was going to say something to you about that, and yes, I think I've screwed up every dang knife I've owned, When I do get something from you, it will be in 3V, hopefully that will be able to withstand me. :p

Let's see, I've screwed up my BK14 on a bench grinder, I've bent my BK16, I've bent my BK15, I've pounded on a Nail with my BK9 'till it should have broke, I've screwed up the Tackett twice! Once on a thin edge, the other was on concrete (sent it to Matt, made it better than new). Also, I flattened the edge on my BK11 with a belt sander, while I was making scales for it.

Um, yeah, I think I'm re-thinking this custom job, maybe I'll go back to Lego's.

duplos perhaps

I just looked into what you were talking about jonny, and that s&$! Is insane!

Isn't it? I was shocked to see how that all went down.
I knew there was always a bit of controversy behind RYP, but I thought it was just political or something along the lines of his reporting. I had no idea it had to do with BF here. Crazy....

In other news... I think Supes is sick... He has been slacking something FIERCE since his kid got out for the summer!

I suspect he's busy fondling half a golf-ball.

I got to spend a great day yesterday with Dan Keffeler.

Rock on, CF! I've never spoken/met with Dan, but I too have been blessed to spend time with some of the greatest makers and designers of our time, and it always makes me feel like I should have taken more notes. It's truly astounding how much a person can learn in 20 minutes with a cat like Ethan or Dan or Kevin or Karl or Jerry or Brad or many others... compared to years of independent research. *mind blown*

I don't often say this, but DAMN it feels good to be a gangsta!

Umm, dude... there's a reason for that. You ain't no gangsta.

In all honesty, that comment had almost nothing to do with you. We had commented that in his videos, he just casually walks up, chops a tree down with a couple hits, and often back-hands it out of the way, with nothing in the way of commentary. That effect certainly makes him look like the great deforester.

I didn't mean to imply I thought you were picking on me. I knew you weren't. I was voicing that my guilt had resurfaced. We good. :)

Waiting on new steel. I've got a Raider Bowie on the way from our very own AIG . It should arrive tomorrow!

Days of Our Lives has nothing on the drama connected to youth baseball. That is all.
