I was thinking about picking up some new steel and originally I was thinking a laser strike, but then I saw a review on the bark river bravo 1 and now I can't decide. Do any of you guys have experience with either one or both? And what do you think of them?

Went back to the drawing board. I think I like the new drawing much better. Nothing is set in stone. Just messing around before I start cutting it out of the steel.

What do you guys think? The new one is on the bottom. Looking to do a convex grind on it.

I just looked it up and it seems like it will be on the CW channel and premieres Oct. 7 at 8 p.m.

I seen it listed online.... I didnt know it wasnt airing until Oct though.

Yeah... That's what I found... Just thought you might have seen something different.

Thanks though,

Doc

I actually prefer to think of myself as a curmudgeon.
Which actually takes a little talent, and you don't have to be a geezer to be one. I just try to think of myself as young (-er than I actually am), so neither term applies. One can only wear the crown if one puts it on one's head, and I don't wanna be king.

On a completely different topic, this gray tree frog was making a racket so loud, I had to find out what the hell was making the sound. He was using the fence as a sounding board for his salacious song. He was less than an inch and a half long, but we could hear him inside the house from 40' away.

My first job was being a helper to my grandpa who was a mason. For two weeks every summer I would go stay with him and bust my butt helping pour concrete, lay block and mostly wash tools. My first real job was on a hay farm. For 10 hours a day I loaded semi trailers (flat beds and vans) and put it up in barns. I did it for 5 years. I was in the best shape of my life.

Thanks buddy!

Now lets see if I can pull it off!

Jeremy

I have no doubt. You know what makes a knife good, now you just have learn how to make a good knife. I look forward to your progress.

Every time I think about saving up for a grinder, I end up ordering another knife. :D

Don't know much about the Laser Strike but I have the Bravo 1 and it is a whole lotta knife. It is hands down the sharpest knife I own. I bought it used, and I know there are some who have trouble with the company's politics, but I would recommend the Bravo 1 hands down (even though I've never held the LS). I would get or make kydex, tho - the standard leather sheath is reasonably well made, but it's really easy to cut the retaining strap and I don't care for the way it carries. I was very... Blah about the Bravo 1 until Mike handed me his. I don't know anything about the politics of the company. What I do know is that knife impressed the hell out of me. More beefy than I thought it was going to be. Much easier to use than I would it would be with all that beef. Very very sharp and carves great. I would like to try one without the ramp. It was easy to work with the ramp but I think it would be better without.

Thumbs up in my book.

the laser strike has love them or hate them handles - I was not a fan.
I'll not comment on BRKT

OTOH - the ESEE CM6 is pretty nice....

The bravo isnt anywhere near 100, most that I have seen were 200 and above. For that price why not get a custom made blade like a TM Hunt Yuma

If you only went to spend around 100, take a look at the Tops BOB Fieldcraft

in other news, if y'all hadn't heard, Ethan is back from his many weeks in Argentina... yar.

You know what, that's a good point, I almost forgot about the Yuma
I've been wanting a laser strike for a few years now so I think I'll just get that since I've already figured it into the budget, then start saving for a Yuma.
