I'd probably be one of those idiots... Although only if I have a giant knife on my hip, and a gun also. I may be an idiot but I'm no fool!

Just got the call, I MAY have to work tonight. The big problem with being an interpreter, total feast or famine. If I have this job tonight it means I work tonight for a few hours (4-6 hours) and then put in an 8 hour day tomorrow.

Awesome picture James, its always cool seeing animals in the wild!!! For some reason the larger they are the more fun it is a lot of times.

Good thing there were no eagles around though.....If there were that poor bear would of been thrown all over the place and walked all over... Kind of like back in December :D

...... Im not even a sports guy, i just couldnt resist a crack at the bears.....

Then this one should do just fine.... And no.... the girl does NOT come with it  :D

Yeah, but with a blade like that you should be able to get all the chicks you want. :D

Frankly, it's not the idiots and fools I'm concerned about (OK, maybe the children - they don't know any better unless someone teaches them). When bears are routinely contacted that closely by human beans, they lose all fear of people and wind up getting into stuff they shouldn't - like coolers and campsites and cabins... and end up being killed.

This stuff is posted all over the place and is on the news routinely during tourist season both here and up north. There's no excuse for a rational adult not to be aware of it.

So, yeah today shall henceforth be called "The day that sucketh the bunghole" I was SUPPOSED To be going to Springfield today to spend it with Miss, instead I got called into work. Rescheduled with Miss and now I'm working 4 am till 8pm. That is a nice and short 16 hour day for you folks at home keeping track. However 4-8 am is double pay, and 5pm-8pm is time and a half. So I'll be getting paid like working 24 hours straight or so.

In other news, we went over to Cade's Cove yesterday afternoon.
Please note, the pic was taken from inside the car. You'd be amazed how many morons will get out and stroll right over within yards of these creatures - with little kids in tow. These are not puppies and kittens, people, they are wild animals. Just because they live in a Nat'l Park does not make them any less dangerous or worthy of respect.

We also saw two hen turkeys and half a dozen little ones. Pics came out poorly, but I have a couple videos to go through and see how they turned out. I asked Angie, "What do you call baby turkeys, anyway?"

"Goblets!" :D

*facepalm*

Hah, Goblets!

C'mon James, Let "natural selection" take its course. Let the city folk out of their cars to pet the hungry little Pooh Bears ;). Then video tape / laugh at the results!, after which proceed to humanly put down the bear for attacking a human, then make some bear steaks and a lovely rug! Everybody wins!

Boom then this happens.

No bus-flinging involved. I told him I probably won't be doing another batch of SideKicks in 3V for quite a while. Can't blame a guy for getting a TM Hunt today instead of a THK six months from now ;)

Yeah, that was my thinking, I should be able to swing both if the wait that long.

On the Bark River knife- I Really wanted one, like, really. Dex had brought one for me to play with and, for some reason, it didn't really do it for me, the handles were kinda weird, like the Yuma, but not "nice" like the Yuma. I also expected the Zero convex to cut better, I donno, maybe it was the pine I was cutting, but it didn't cut that awesome. The handle was very conducive do chopping, it surprised me how well it chopped. The handle scales were kinda uneven, which I wouldn't expect on a $150 knife.

I also played with JT's SideKick, Now that was a different story! It cut the same wood very well, like, it shouldn't do that! It also felt very, very light in the hand. I was much more impressed with the Sidekick than the Bravo, maybe it was a fluke, but....

Todds knives were beautiful, really beautiful, they were my Dad's favorite customs at the Gathering. The edge's were a little thick, but I rather like thicker edge's. Or maybe they were toothy, donno, I did really like the handle, especially for my tiny hands.

Just my 0.2 cents.

Congrads on your Yuma purchase MM. That particular Yuma has become quite the communal piece. I think your the forth owner. Let me know if it needs any touchin up BEFORE you totally destroy it or lodge it into you head. :D

I haven't handled any Bark River blades, there is a couple that intrigue me. Next year I'll probably end up at one of the Grind-Ins with Doc an James. It seems... fun. We'll see though, maybe not. I know the politics that went on "before my time" and that has been a big motivation to not get any of their blades. However a good blade is a good blade and I do love a good blade. I figure, I'm not Team America, I'm not the world police.

In other news, my arm is completely bald, COMPLETELY bald, and I'm already starting to slip into slap happy mode... Which PROBABLY isn't too good.

LOL!!!!!! Is that the one Mistwalker had first and photographed?

Hey Todd, I'll have the money for that desk knife next week. Then you can send everything at once when they are all done.

ETA: that is going to be one ridiculously sexy box to receive.

Thanks! I'll keep that in mind. I like to think I'm like the Noss test for knives, the only difference is I don't intentionally destroy them! :D

Maybe instead of Noss testing them you just use them? Just a thought. Knives generally have a limit of what they can handle don't purposefully push them past that point? Slicing, cutting, chopping, shaving... All knife stuff. Sticking into your head, prying, digging, shattering doors... NOT knife stuff.

That poor Yuma is almost up there with that Jade Tackett now.

Hunt apparently took Tackett's salesmanship seminar.

No, the one your referring to Moose somehow sucked his way into owning that one. Dont know the specifics, but it took 3 days to wipe the smile off of Mistwalkers face.

I see what you did there.

I usually don't do anything too stupid! I never pry, or dig, or anything like that, I just use them hard everyday. Mostly they have three tasks: Chopping, Battoning, and feathersticking. The Yuma should excel at all of that, the Crow hook as awesome for chopping, and the 3/16, the thickness is awesome for battoning, it should take it, and the thicker edges feather real good. It takes more muscle, but the steel behind the edge pushes the strip of wood into a curl.

I can be stupid with battoning, but I'm growing out of it. I never need to baton 4" hardwood, but I do for "testing", and a little because the lady's dig it. :p
