The NEXT SALE

Sorry if this is a dumb question but does that mean no Signatures will be available tomorrow?

It's not a dumb question. Especially around here.

I am out of Magna Cut signature. And I owe Delta 3V signature to the pre-order and I can't sell those on a Friday sale until I have started shipping them to the pre-order. So this next sale is just basics.

I don't have EDC ready yet so we're going to do another sale of Field Knives. We are running a little low though.

Our next sale will be Friday Aug 16th (tomorrow)

30 5" Field Knives Basic in D3V or Magnacut.

If you like Magnacut or have been wanting to try it out, this is going to be a good batch for you.

Also:
I have processed some of that cool old vintage Micarta brand International Paper phenolic into some sheets for this and we're going to be running some scales. Rather than get our regular natural micarta (which is Accurate Acculam) try this stuff. IP had just bought the brand from Westinghouse and this was made in batches in a press rather than pultruded. Like Westinghouse, it doesn't get fuzzy when I machine it and it sends the load meter up into a range I'd associate with aluminum. This is really good stuff, they don't make this anymore, and I bought tons of it so I can offer it to you at a really good price.

Out in the main sale area here: https://www.bladeforums.com/forums/for-sale-fixed-blades.754/

Sale is at 3:00 eastern time.

^ Jo, Bo, Mark, Ben, Carl, Trevor, Sadie, Tanto and I hope to see you there.
I didn't see your old vintage micarta for sale yet on the fixed blades forum. Did you list it yet elsewhere?

It's been a handle option on the last few sales. Here's my MagnaCut Signature FK3 with crusty vintage micarta. The darker part is toward the tang on mine. It doesn't look that much different from natural micarta, but the crusty part is getting toward antique edge-cut micarta levels of darkness, and it feels smoother, denser, and more polished than regular natural micarta does even if buffed.

Looks nice! Thanks for sharing! Nice colored fasteners too.

No, but I'd be curios to know what that acronym means (didn't look it up yet).

The wording for his next sale included "I have processed some of that cool old vintage Micarta brand International Paper phenolic into some sheets", which is what I was asking about.
ECAM is Edge Cut Antique Micarta...aka AECM (Antique Edge Cut Micarta). The "vintage" micarta is a bit different. ECAM is believed to be Westinghouse, and older, while the VIP (Vintage International Paper) is a bit newer.

Thanks for that. I had been interested in finding some Westinghouse micarta. I just did find and started to read the post on ECAM just before this titled "THE ECAM Scales thread". I'll probably be going down a rabbit hole on this one. Maybe my next Carothers order will include that option.

I saw mentioned that he made some knives for Amazon before the last sales batch. I wonder what to look for in Amazon to find those ...

What is that tad collab knife?

Matt Martin of Vehement Knives, the model is the Hitchhiker. Satin CPM154, brown stacked leather, nickel silver soldered guard, aluminum pommel, leather sheath by his wife Jenna of Skinbender Leather Works. Limited run of customs for TAD, not sure how many. At least 14, probably not more than 20. I've been a big fan of VK for about seven years and along with CPK and Les George they're the three brands I collect and use.

Aside from some prototypes that went by raffle in the VK Facebook group, I don't think any of this model have made it into the wild, the TAD collaboration was the official debut, and the model isn't even in the model list or available for order if the books ever open again.
