The NEXT SALE

I'll clear a few things up about tapatalk...
If you rely on push notifications I can ALMOST guarantee you'll lose out on the sale. The push notifications have too much lag for Nathan's sales, that goes for both the CPK forum when he has them ready and locked as well as the new exchange threads.
Another thing to clear up is the notification on threads being unlocked...thats not the case.

As far as my usage goes, I've seen push notifications on new threads but not on thread unlocks. Now I'm not a self-proclaimed Tapatalk expert, so I could be missing something. I manually refresh as I'm watching said thread.

You could very well be right. My use it limited to using it to post pics when I can't upload to an FTP from my desktop. Good info for other people at least.

shhhhhhhhhhh!!

I am having a sale this Friday, but I think I'm going to pull the wooden scales from it and post them the following week. I'm waiting on boiled linseed oil to cure, there will be epoxy to set and hand sanding/buffing all taking a lot of time. I think we'll just stick to vintage micarta and Shadetree materials this first round.

This last few weeks we have been experimenting with cutting tools, speeds and feeds, and finishing techniques to tweak our process for these different materials. It has been fun, but it has taken more time than I intended and there has been some scrap. All in good fun. Sorry for the delays, I know we need to get back to our regular schedule.

I'm excited to see some of the new options, even if it does mean some delay. I also like that you're willing to work through the headaches that come with changing up regular materials. Not everyone is willing to do that, specifically because of those headaches. I'm glad you're willing to give it a go now and then.

Thanks for the update Nathan.

Oh, man, there's gonna be Shadetree stuff, too? Any firehose or burlap? Excited to see what you came up with regardless.

Although there will be less knives to go for this friday and next week, it is exciting to hear that 1. there will be some shadetree micarta handles and 2. wood!!! Hope some of these make it to any pre-order...otherwise it will be to the quick and the few.
will be warming up my arthritic hands next couple days...ahh some arnica salve.

Will the sale thread tomorrow be a new thread, or will you unlock the picture thread?

Crazy. It's still there.

You are correct, sir. Must. Drink. More Coffee.

If that's so, then please pardon the above — let me know, and I'll edit to nullify if that's a no-no.

If you check post #75 in "ask Nathan a question", he answers the question, I think - pretty much he's got too much going at the moment to see if it's allowed. In any case, I will remove my comments in #578 above rather than give anyone the idea that sales, trades, etc might be possible
