.Nathan the Machinist - will there be any runs of the regular Field Knife (not HDFK) this year?
.
Yes I plan to. It will be a variation of the original without the scraper on their side end and perhaps a few tweaks to the geometry but fundamentally the same Field Knife we all know and love. Most likely a Mashed Cat sheath this time around.
From the sales thread, might want to see (count) if someone took more than 1Where there 30 Hdfk up for sale today? I was 27th, so I am very curious.

I'm in! Will these be offered on a pre-order basis?Yes I plan to. It will be a variation of the original without the scraper on the end and perhaps a few tweaks to the geometry but fundamentally the same Field Knife we all know and love. Most likely a Mashed Cat sheath this time around.
I own three of your knives (an edc2, a field knife and a shiv [I once had two shivs...]). They are my favorites. Nothing compares with ergos and I just cannot get over how sharp they stay. I bought the shivs and the fk on the weekly burn years ago. I tried to buy an edc2 on the list and I missed out over and over. I ended up buying one off the buy sell trade post, paying a premium of course (the knife is amazing and wow!!!). And I thought hell I’ll try again and see about an hdfk...again I lost out.
I’m tired of the proxy bidding bullshit! Stop buying Nathan’s knives to resell and stop with the proxy. Let people who use knives put these fantastic knives to use! If you can’t make a sale you don’t need his knives enough...its like showing up fer stew when the bell rings, chow’s on! And when the pot’s empty there ain’t no more.
With respect; I was not able to attend the last sale of the HDFK, as I was travelling and not able to use a 'puter or phone.
Casinostocks (whom I at the time didnt know from Adam) offered to proxy.
I thought this a fine gesture - to bother with this (sales frenzy and back and forth comms) for a total stranger.
It got me a HDFK.
I will (if not randomly beat then) use the snot out of it and have no plans to sell.
I agree on all points.Dabling, I respectfully disagree with your sentiment that proxy bidding is BS! Most if not all proxy bids do not end up in one iota of profits for the proxy bidder and it actually helps to dampen the secondary market prices. At the expense of sounding like I'm patronizing Nathan (which is not my intention), you know that he's a pretty savvy person and if he had felt that proxy buying abuses his intention of putting knives in the end user's hands, he'd put a swift stop to that practice. I'm glad that Nathan has decided to raise his base prices because IMHO the market will most likely not tolerate the same percentage increases by the flippers of Nathan's work which means more money for CPK and less for the flagrant profiteers. I can tell you that something like 98% or higher of the regular forumites do not participate in the sales to make a make an easy buck off of CPK's hard work.
I feel badly for those who get frustrated but as long as Nathan wishes to stay true to his FCFS method, the ones with the faster reaction and more keyboard savvy combined with some luck win out. Thankfully though, Nathan has been graciously offering preorders and I do n to know of anyone but one single case of arschgeige who will not be getting his knife (who was refunded). Perhaps down the road just reach out and request that someone proxies for you and I'm fairly certain that if not a very limited run like the Zombies, someone will step up for you.
