The Official FrankenBecker Mod-Off (here we go)

Hey Clich, modders,

sorry for the delay.
My end-of week got munched, plus chainsawing in CT again, then someone else needed a day of volunteered work...
Now I'm back at work for another day or two, but will be getting home early and will have some time to do the deed, hope. Not good, means this must be the second week of having the 7 w/o progress. My apologies.
I got one other in-progress thing finished and that was it for free time.
In fact, I'm going to plan to have the thing in the mail for the next in line by next Monday, whether my mod is done or not. Else it will be another week and I don't want to do that to the project.

The delay isn't going to hurt me. I did another hemp wrap this weekend, learned a lot, got a few more experiments I want to run.

So I figure there's only one way to make up for being so damn late and holding everything up...

Here it goes, under the knife. Er, on the knife, under the file.

Wait, really?

Yep.

Beer for the save! (root variety, the rest went into tonight's chili)

I wish I had a mid-sized round file to round the notch out better.
Unfortunately I was obsessed with getting the geometry to work and didn't realize I'd undercut the grips a tiny bit, but I think someone's making new grips anyway.

Clich, pm me the next butcher!

This is a major victory! Everything can be greatly improved with a bottle opener, even another bottle. Good idea Daizee!

Very cool. Murphs up next doing the Blade finish. Ill pm you his addy when I get to a computer or if murph can send it to ta if he gets a chance

Awesome idea, daizee! Lots of great ideas in here, in fact. I've got to find myself a few new tools....

Murph: the platypus has waddled.
Make sure you look UNDER the knife too.

It hath arrived! I haven't opened it yet, it's still in the Jeep while I'm at work.

Finally, got off work and rip the box open. I've tried to save my comments until I could see this sucker first hand and Daaaaammmmmnnnn! Gentlemen, y'all do good work. I had the privilege of getting her first, though I wasn't ready for her and this thing has come a good way from the beat up condition she was in. Of course I used the bottle opener..... The slab of wood in the box I'll need some help with though. No idea what it is.

Hi Murph, glad everything arrived. The wood is a piece of multicolor mahogany appropriate for making knife scales (for your own knife!) I have a recent thread in the makers gallery with pix of how it looks on a blade.

Excellent, thank you sir! I'm hoping to get this mod done on Sat or Sun. It's hard getting the shop time with conflicting shifts.

Take your time murph no rush. Although I think BRL has rehandled everything including the neighbors cat in anticipation :D
