I've had the bead pictured here for about a year, having bought it to go on my Rainmaker as it's a great match both color- and style-wise. It's pretty damn big, though, and after trying two different paracord patterns and several knots, it just struck me as too bulky for such a long, slender knife. I had it on my PJ Spartan Harsey Folder for a while as that's a thicker, bulkier piece, but it seemed a little splashy for an all stonewashed, unadorned knife.
It's been in a drawer for some time and I've now given it a home on my new-to-me Southard Performance Series Tolk. The knife has a very gray palette with just a little soft color in its light blue standoffs, OTS, and thumbstuds, but it also has some nicely contoured milling and a pronounced curvature to its handle slabs. It's smaller than the Olamic and SHF, but still a substantial piece, so I've tied up a couple Wide Diamonds around this poor itinerant bead with the 550 Desert Heat I got back in September.
I'm kinda liking it, though I did go back and look at the
pics here of my Rainmaker with the bead and a pair of loose regular-sized diamonds tied with a very matte reddish 750. After all I've moved this bead around, when I checked out that pic I thought it looked pretty nice. Maybe it'll end up back there again and I'll find something else for this one. I know our friend
Kmikaz3
thinks it belongs there.
Anyway, here's my latest tail, tied up last night....
