The protos look so much nicer with the sterile blades. ZT please consider limiting the billboard writing on your knives. The sterile blades are so much classier.

I think they are stuck behind 3 years still trying to make their name huge in the industry, while it already is.

They really dont need to put bill boards on all their blades anymore.

I personally like at least some of the 'billboard' stuff. Manufacturer, Model #, Serial #, steel type. Doesn't have to be big, but I like having it...especially if there are ever going to be multiple editions with various steel types--like the 0550 and the 0551. I like serial #'s too for this reason:

Having a ZT pic like this to share once in a while kind of makes my world go 'round. :D:D:D:D:p:p

However, I would be fine if ZT wanted to go to a sterile blade after around 2000 or so. I believe they've done this with a couple of models already--the 0350BW, for example, I think is one of them.

They arent the worst offenders and It's not earth shattering to me but given the choice I do prefer a sterile blade. It is unecessary, perhaps collectors like the knife's entire history on the blade but I dont. A nice logo is enough, all the vitals can be hidden under the pivot, how about that. Or ar least on the tang only. Let the blade/knife/design do the explaining.

Yep, like I said. I like having the info. Doesn't need to be big or obtrusive. The volt 3600 has the serial # on the flipper, for example. Or my old Mercworx folders have the serial # on the butt of the blade between the scales, and can only be seen when the blade is closed. I like having the info. For a knife lover that is also an 'art collector' like myself, it's a nice bonus that individualizes each knife. But I also think that after 2000 or so, a completely or mostly sterile blade is fine. Everybody can be happy that way. The only potential drawback I have with sterile blades is I have a serious hunch that sterile blades might make it easier for the Chinese counterfeiters to do their dastardly deeds.

This is certainly not something I'd get up in arms about either way. I love what ZT does and am a loyal lifetime enthusiast. And I will remain that. But for me personally, it's a huge bonus when I can get matching serial numbers for the knives I love the most. In fact, the pic I shared is an old one. I actually now have a 0600blk that belongs in that pic. Can't explain it, but that kind of stuff does this :D to my ugly mug.

Another damned if they do, damned if they don't situation.

Another recent one has been quad carry vs. one position carry.

Welp, they are already doing things their way and unless they start building full customs it is impossible to have it just right for every customer. Just a matter of preferences and the topic was brought up so I shared mine with a suggestion or two but things appear to be set much like BM has full blown essays on their limited blades lol take it or leave it. I'll still take it.

Think the finished product will have a lanyard hole? Or room enough to attach to a standoff or something? Not a deal breaker for me, just curious. It seems to be a standard now to have one on EDC folders.

Since it was in the 0770cf thread, i'm betting it was just a typo. He meant 0770cf but unable to get the 0562cf off his mind he accidentally typed that instead.

Btw is M390 steel comparable with Elmax? I really love the Elmax in my 0566 and 0770cf but never tried M390.

Does anybody know what the blade width (not thickness) will be?

I hate to admit this, especially being a big fan of Zero Tolerance knives, but I saw the 562 for the first time online yesterday. So I'm a bit late to the party. :o I have only owned recurved ZTs (350s, 200s and a 303) but never even held a one of there Hinderer designs. I have recently been on the hunt for a knife to EDC in my left pocket where my 303 is now that is a better slicer, has a strong and more penetrable tip, and takes up a little less pocket real-estate... and have always liked the 550 and 561 but never really felt that I had to have them. But as soon as I saw a video of the 562 I fell in love. :D I preordered the Elmax version, which is actually the one I wanted because I like the full stonewashed blade and G10 for EDC. But if I like this knife as much as I think I will then I will probably get a CF one later on. I do kind of wish that the blade was a bit longer, at least as long as the 561, but I guess that 1/4 inch won't be that noticeable. Maybe, if the 562 does well, Zero Tolerance will do another Hinderer design with a slicer grind in a 4 inch model.

I'm just glad that I found out about this knife before they stopped taking preorders. I don't think I've ever been this excited to a new knife... This is the first time I've ever preordered a knife, which I think is going to drive me crazy because I am definitely NOT a patient man. Sorry for the long post, but like I said, I'm excited. I've been talking about the 562 so much I think my Wife knows the specs by heart. :D

And she still puts up with you? That's awesome!! And I share your excitement. I fully expect the 0562 to quickly become one of ZT's best sellers. And I bet you get the m390 version sooner rather than later. LOL You'll probably even get one for your wife.

LOL Probably! She loves the stonewashed 350 that USED to be mine. :D She really likes the look of the XM-18, so I'm thinking about getting her a 566 pretty soon (perfect size for her). She is also very into knives, and guns... :D But I'm the obsessed one. LOL

I also expect 562 to do great, especially the m390 version. Zero Tolerance has definitely hit a homerun this year.
