Sweet. I thought they might release around the same time as the Snap-on tool expo, which was last week, since Snap-on is one of, if not the biggest, Kershaw dealers. Guess my suspicions were correct.

We are that much closer to the M390 version :) I've had a ****-on for this since they announced it... First day preorder with Knifecenter. Soon as they get some, I am in! $209 shipped.

So much win... Slicer grind, M390, materials, bearings etc..

Anyone else get a knifecenter order information email today saying their order for the ZT0562cf order was in process? Maybe they are coming soonish?

Was it this one? "This is a friendly note to let you know that your order is still in process. Rest assured that it is in good hands! As soon as your order is complete, it will be shipped right out."

They send that out every week or so. They've been sending that to me for a while now, and no knife yet (for me at least).

Every Thursday around Noon ;)

I preordered a 0562CF, but the more I think about it, the more I'm starting to question what that knife could provide for me that my brand new 0561 can't. At the very least, the lack of a lanyard hole is a concern I have. I may end up passing on it when my email hits.

Yeah these "in progress" teaser emails are getting annoying. Why do you build me up, KC baby, just to let me down?

Hopefully the CF's aren't far behind. KC still says they're expected in the fourth quarter, but I won't be mad if it drops early. Just sayin'.

Hmmm. If somebody offered you a brand new 3.5" XM-18 slicer grind for around $250, would you pass on it? That's essentially what you'll be doing if you decide not to buy the 0562CF. For what it's worth, I'm blown away that Rick authorized ZT to build it. Based on the popularity of the 3.5" XM-18, I wouldn't be surprised if the 0562CF turns out to be the folder of the decade despite the fact that it doesn't have a lanyard hole. Of course, if a lanyard hole is really that important to you, you can always pay an additional $300 to $400 and get yourself an original XM-18. ;)

LOL Let me just be clear up front. I am not ever going to pay for a Hinderer knife. That is a fact. I will never pay the outrageous bullshit middle-man markup that most Hinderers have. On top of that, I've read enough about the poor experience of dealing with Rick himself that I'd never want to have to send one in for any warranty work. So, yeah, you won't ever see any Hinderer knives in my collection.

That said, I enjoy the ZT models because I DO like Hinderer designs. But the fact of the matter is that I'm not huge into the details. Grinds? I like 'em all equally, the only grind I don't like is Emerson's chisel grind. All others I'm good with, because all of my knives with all of their different grinds all cut just fine. So, the "slicer grind", first of all, I have no idea what that is. Just don't care. I mean, all my other knives slice things just fine, so maybe they ALL have "slicer grinds" and I didn't know it? Sweet! In which case, I'm covered.

I'll see how I feel about it once I get that email from BladeHQ. Right now though, it's a 50/50 that I'm going to pass.
