The Official ZT0562 Thread!! (FIRST LOOK)

If the past is any indicator I'd expect it in early 2015, that seems to be best case for ZT models chosen as blade knife of the year, though the 0562 should be easier to produce than previous ZT's chosen for that award, no laminated blades, or obscure blade material etc. Good, bad, or otherwise ZT is very slow to get new products to market. I like to assume it's because they do more testing and want to ensure that the product is as good as possible before it's released. Plus look at it this way, if it arrives early, you'll be pleasantly surprised, if not you won't be disappointed. :)
 
I'm afraid ToddM may be right about the release date. I certainly hope to see at least one new model, the 562 or 620, released in the next 3-4 months, but it may not be in the cards. I appreciate KAI taking the time to make sure their new knives are ready for release without issues, but I would much rather see the new releases come sooner than all the blackwash/CF scale variations of their current models. On the bright side, I suppose it helps all the ZT fans learn patience.
 
Tired of waiting? Do what I did, buy a Hinderer. My xm24 will be here Monday. That will keep me busy for a long time. Then one random day I'll get an email that my 0562 shipped. Yeah...sure.... that's why I bought the xm24......
 
I'm completely stoked for the 0562CF - I just placed my preorder. I've tried a couple 0560 models and found them a bit to wide to carry comfortably, and an 0566 that I customized to what the 0562CF basically is with carbon fiber and the nice standoffs, but was just too small. Plus the whole package of KVT, M390, and a great new pocket clip!

Now I just have to manage to forget I ordered it so I can be pleasantly surprised in a few months or so....
 
First it was late q2 then q3 now q4. I think it best to just put it out of your mind. Forget you ordered it. That way you don't pine over it and are extra pumped when it finally hits the streets

Then someone better delete this thread. I don't know about you guys, but the first thing I do when I get on here is check my subscriptions to see if anyone has posted in this thread, praying it's about a shipment notification. I feel like it's getting worse as time drags on! At first I didn't really care as I've never been a ZT fan (this is my first) so I didn't really give a hoot about waiting, knowing that I'm taken care of and it will get here when it gets here. Now I'm sitting here saying I can't take it any more and just gimme the damn knife! Well not really, but I gotta say I am starting to feel the fever.
 
I've waited so long that the appeal has disappeared. I want to cancel all my pre orders and pick up one later when they're regular production.

Keep it together Remy, you know you want one. We can do this, we just have to stick together. Maybe buy another knife to hold you over. I'm thinking about it, but my wallet hasn't spoken to me since I preordered the ZT.

And how many times have we been told not to listen to anything from dealers in regards to a release date? They don't know they are coming until they are ready.

I've been waiting since 1/23. $850 later, I've forgotten about my preorder.

When I open my wallet, I hear echoes
 
The ZT 0562 was announced in mid January 2014 and for regular production knives it takes ZT anywhere from 6 to 11 months before we see them. Most recent ones have shown up in the 6 to 9 months range which would put it in the mid-July to mid-October range. The only recent one that took longer than 9 months was 0770CF because ZT had to procure enough CF and design changes over the 0770.

Just curious, what makes you think ZT won't have to do the same for the 0562cf? Maybe well see the 0562 first, then perhaps the 0562cf later on?

Just a thought.
