My family's playground in West Virginia.

Redneckin' gear. Yes, that is a stand-up, big boy urinal you can see in the background there. This is my Dad's "man-cave"- still under construction. It's big.

Water is nice.

I'm finally as big as my Dad. Sweatier though.

Wat County is your property located in? I've been looking in and around Pendelton County for some property to build on.

Moon Wilson great looking area. I'd give body parts to own something like that.

Thanks! It's about as close to heaven as I can imagine. 300+ acres of prime red-neckin' real estate. With motorcycle trails everywhere, great fishing, great hunting etc. My dad is pimpin' that place out proper. We have a shooting range set up off of the front porch of the main house, you can fish while sitting in the hot-tub out back.

It didn't look that nice when I was growing up. It was totally overgrown with 30' rosebushes and completely strewn with rocks- everywhere, so you couldn't get a bush-hog through there to save your life. I spent my childhood with a digging bar and a wheelbarrow, moving rocks into piles like you see next to the driveway there. I would have given my left nut for that nice Gator he has now. That thing has a hydraulic, tilting bed like a dump truck and everything.

It's about 8 miles off of Rt. 50, between Romney and Augusta. I'm not sure which county it's in. Beautiful country around there. It's so rugged, it's still hardly been touched. Still dirt roads and outhouses mainly in those parts.

Near the city where I live there is a number of national parks. Note that Dutch parks in the Netherlands are quite small and scattered. Here are some pictures I made when hiking through a national park called "Dwingelderveld".

It's raining today, so here's some pics of a few days ago. It was wet, so I found tons of fresh tracks.

I like this one. Horseshoes and deer tracks together.

A short corduroy section reinforcing the soggy trail.

I'm not sure how visible this is, but this is an explosion of fine bird feathers. Looked to me like something ate a youngin'. Not visible tracks, so I'm guessing a bird of prey had a nice meal.

baldtaco-II, amazing photos. Where were they taken, specifically the first photo? That and what is the fixed blade knife?

riz_aaroni, hola

Thanks amigo. That's over in a bit of Sussex just off the South Downs Way. I've a mate gonna go peddle a section of that with me next week.

The knife is a Boker. Can't recall model because I've had it ages and the marks wore off long ago with the convexing. I've seen something similar by Boker more recently but in 440A not 440C and with an inferior sheath.

I should have recognized the logo, I knew it looked familiar. That area would be great to ride around in, very peaceful.

WOW, those trees are amazing! I knew they are big but wow! I'd love to visit there some time. That's the same forest they filmed Return of the Jedi in isn't it?

No. These pictures were taken in Giant Forest, and the big trees are giant sequoia (sequoiadendron giganteum). They are found in the Sierras, from 3400' to 8900'. Return of the Jedi was filmed in a grove of coast redwoods (sequoia sempervirens), which are found along the Pacific coast. I think it was either Prairie Creek state park or Jedediah Smith state park.

Giant Sequoia are larger diameter, coast redwoods are taller.
