Yep. I started off with traditional knives. Then I realized that they make 'em out of newer steels. Got myself a Queen Congress in U2, a Queen Stockman in U2, and those Country Cousins. Still, I really like my Case barlow in stainless. :)

Oh, and here's a public shout out to el0147. That curly coa from many pages ago showed up and made me grin ear to ear. I kicked the edge up to super sharp and can't wait to go out and use it. I think it's going to serve my boys and I for many years to come. Drew, you're quite the young man.
 
If any things falls through, I'd love the set of traditionals. Or at least just one. They remind me of my grandfather.

That is a very very awesome offer of you, id love to take you up on that but i have a real problem using other peoples stuff, there is always the possibility of damaging or loosing it and Id just be too worried to take the chance honestly.

Forgive this convoluted post, but if you don’t want to follow along it ends with a Becker 17 offer, but not from me.

A few pages back I mentioned I wanted to offer an Emerson, with a request: whoever got the Emerson should be someone who hasn't owned one, who would take it out, use it, snap some pics of it in action, and post their review back in the thread. Yes, I know I can do all of that myself and post elsewhere in the forums, but thought it would be more fun to do it here. NYOutdoors PM’d me and asked to do the review as he has never owned an Emerson, and offered to give several other knives to the thread in exchange. This is a generous offer, so I decided to give the Emerson to him, and he would then offer a knife to everyone.

OK so if you follow all of that the offer is forthcoming from NYOutdoors, it is a BK 17 (old style, stamped, not laser etched), which should go to someone new to Beckers (or at least the 17), who is willing to take it out and review it, and then post some pics back in the thread. If you follow my thinking here it was we give 2 knives away, and get two reviews, and get 2 happy people instead of just one. Win, Win, Win in my opinion.

Let me know if anyone thinks this is out of line, I think we are following the spirit of the thread. I will not try for the BK 17 as this isn't a trade, there is another place for that. Below are pics of NYOutdoors new Emerson A100 (awful pics i know):

Sweet Emerson!! And the BK17 is a great knife and very capable!! The next owner of that will be very happy!!

I LOVE mine :D I guess ill show her off a little LMAO :D

Congrats to whomever ends up with the Emerson and the Becker. I would have jumped on them if I had a chance to give a proper review :)
 
Hope both of them find a nice home...if I'm understanding correctly? I have a BK16, and they are some nice, nice knives. I put Ipe scales on mine, just beautiful.
 
I would volunteer to help test out the 17 (if given the chance). I am not new to Beckers though - with an 11 and a 9, but I have always wanted to try the 17 out I just haven't been able to pull the trigger on one.
