The One and Only 0777

I wish someone would give us a comprehensive unbiased comparison between the three big guns Kershaw/ZT has been producing, the Tilt, 0560/1, and the 0777.
Its basically all the KVT knives. Compare and contrasting: function, design, materials, steels, etc. . .

Obviously the 0777 is on top from what I have seen so far, if not strictly based on cool new innovative features, materials, and obviously the design speaks for itself (good enough to imitate). The ZT name on the 0777 means it should surpass the Tilt?

I think the Tilt comes in a very close second, its a knife for a different purpose/use, not as flashy, more down to business, until you dig into details. Definitely the flagship for the Kershaw banner.

I have only seen pictures of a 0560/1 (and 0777) but it looks like one the best pocket clips to come out of Tualatin for low riding (except the Volt or 0777, 0500?). The stonewashed finish is great and the 3D textured grips too. Its the KVT entry level knife, and will probably be the mainstay for a while. Its like getting a custom knife at a factory affordable price, nice!

I wonder what the future holds for KVT?

I personally really appreciate the update and it was completely not required or expected (we do nag and ask a lot of Q's), it was a nice surprise and let us all know to start saving up for the next big thing. Thats going above and beyond the call of duty!

I hope to have mine in my pocket when I visit the Kershaw factory in late August.

Maybe I'll get to see a proto at Blade?

Thanks for the update, Thomas.

best

AFAIK no known estimate yet/production numbers yet. A while ago some websites stated 1000, but ZT corrected me on this. You can check out some of the older posts on their facebook page.

"Zero Tolerance Knives-KAI USA Ltd. Hi Robert - not plenty, unfortunately. This has been and continues to be a very complicated knife to build. Jeff, we still don't have a final production estimate :) "

Btw Go like their pics + their page on FB!! More teaser pics :p

EDITED: Went on a MT rant yesterday, and was probably not on point with the goal of discussion. Lets just say an Elephant never forgets!!!

I'm curious. Knowing that Microtech's firearm division (MSAR) went bankrupt not long ago, would Kershaw ever consider buying Microtech if they folded one day - as long as the price is right?

Just hypothetically speaking.

Been lusting after the 0777 since Blade last year.

Soon ... soon.:)

Same, since I saw the pictures last year, I actually set aside a small piggy bank for the 777 exclusively [i know, i know 26 yr old and piggy bank :p lol]. That way I knew I had cash for this simply elegant + beautiful knife :p If I can score one, then I would have completed Kershaw/ZT's triple threat this year lol [560/tilt/777]. But its ok, good things come to those who wait!

I seriously love the design of the 0777, but i just can't make myself buy one. I will only have ONE folder in that price range for the foreseeable future, and the 0777 is just too pretty to be used.

We're talking here about the one, the only, the original, the heartbreaking, award winning, real deal, limousine ridin', jet flyin', kiss stealin', wheelin' dealin' son of a gun 0777!!
!

Are you a friend of Ric Flair?

cziv: that clip was well played. I wonder if it was just a coincidence, or not?

I wonder if it is too late to start a petition to exclude Micro Tech from even being nominated for any awards at Blade Show?

Then that means i've met Thomas then since Ole Rick lives in my town and have seen him multiple times...haha

I'd have badgered him until he gave me one of his patented back-handed chest slaps! Ric Flair was the man back in those days of TV show wrestling programs. He was the "other" wrestling federation's Hulk Hogan.

His schtick was enough to make me tune in every Saturday afternoon if possible. 3 cheers for the Nature Boy! :D
