Time to get this show on the road!!! I've been missing it, for 3 years now, and I'm very excited to be going after all this time!! It is not as easy for us West-coasters to get to a show - so many shows are in the east!!
It is a huge show for us, and affords cutlery lovers a great variety - customs, antiques, and even cookware!!
I am packing up, and taking a slow drive there, starting tomorrow morning!!
I've got some very interesting stuff coming with me this year, and GEC is back this year!!!
I hope to see a bunch of old friends there, and will try to populate this thread with pictures, starting Saturday!!
I've heard my old Empire display, sold a few years ago, will be there, along with many other cutlery displays!!!
Try to make it if you can!! My table, as always, is number U-2!!!
Come on down!!!

I was all booked and ready to make it up this year but my trip was trumped by a family event. It's been too long and I was really looking forward to seeing folks again but I am really glad you are able to make it this year Charlie! Have a fun and safe trip!

I took a gander on the Amtrak website and one of the stops for the Coast Starlight is Eugene, OR. 😲 Another stop is just the next city over. Though too late to make the trip this weekend, I think I do have to make plans to go next year. Is the Oregon Knife Show always at the same location waynorth waynorth ?

Thus far, it has been at the same location in recent years. Plan for 2024! Hotels are pretty cheap in Eugene…and the beer selection in Oregon is pretty exceptional 👍

I had never really considered trying to make it to the Oregon show (mostly because it’s so far away), but having attended the Badger show in Wisconsin with H herder the last couple years, and hearing him talk up the Oregon show, I’m now convinced it’s the place I need to be. 🙂 It’s not going to happen this year, and to be honest, the proximity (time-wise) to the Badger show and having two young kids at home makes it tough, but maybe I can make it work some time.

Why not go really old school? 😉

I’ve always been curious about taking a long train journey somewhere (while it’s still something that exists in America), and we were really close to an Amtrak station when we lived in Arizona, but dang is it expensive! 💰💰💰

Leaving Thursday morning for the show. Haven’t been since 2018😩. Looking forward to this one! Hope those that can’t make it this year can next year—it is a cutlery delight👍 Safe travels to those going!

Here is a four inch four blade Keen Kutter stockman I found at the show in 2016.
