The Oregon Knife Show, 2023!!!

I don’t know much about how the Oregon Knife Collector’s Association is run, but things don’t sound good for future of the Oregon show. 🙁

Of course, I was planning on going for the first time next year. 😐
I was also. There was uncertainty whether there would be a 2023 show, so I couldn't plan in advance to attend in April, but with the show restarted, I was planning to get a table in 2024.

I'm not sure I understand why Dennis is saying there are not enough table applications for the 2024 show to make it worth while. Table applications forms normally are send out with the fall club news letters. That has always been when I paid my dues and requested a table for the spring show. I'm kind of thinking that's what most people do. Until they see what they have in Dec. they don't know how many tables have been filled

I think he was referring to last year's table applications. It was after that realization that they started offering discounts on tables.

Thanks for clarifying that Eric!!

The 2023 Oregon show was successful and gratifying for me personally. I only wish it was so in the wider picture. I have been a long-time attendee, and it has been the Greatest Show on Earth IMO!!!! I can only hope that some worthy producers step up and can do as good a job as has been done over the last 46 years!!
Thank You, dennis and elayne, for so many years of effective "Husbandry"!! You certainly deserve to retire proudly!!!

Folks, if you love cutlery, please take out, or renew, your Oregon membership, no matter where you live!! It is not expensive, and The Show must go on!!!

Respectfully,
Charlie Waynorth

Nicely said, Charlie. I have been so busy lately that I had not had a chance to process the latest newsletter and I am not on Facebook. Hopefully, good things continue to await us come next April.

If I read the knewsletter correctly, they are not taking 2024 memberships correct? I will renew as soon as possible.

I am having trouble renewing for Canada!! A stupid site that needs editing!!
And why would they feature the worst (2014) annual knives??
A whole new administration flying off the handle!!!🤬

I could not figure out how to renew either, Charlie. Very frustrating. I emailed them and asked if I could mail in my renewal as I have always done in the past.

Well, I got my old table back at the Oregon Show, and my membership (of course)!!!
I hope the new administrators do as good a job as elayne and dennis did!!
They will be sorely missed, for their wonderful service; fair, thoughtful and considerate!!!
