The Original 0777

While it goes against my grain, I'll stay on the higher ground here.

If anyone thinks the SIDIS knife had any influence on the 0777 you're way off base. To think it was the inspiration on Project X, you're stupid.

Wow, that's you taking the high road? Calling everyone stupid who might even consider the claim for a moment?

Real classy Thomas

ADDED: Just to be real clear, I own no MT and have no plans to buy any. Couldn't really care less about that product line. Yes the knife in question is a knockoff of the 777, clearly so. What irks me is how a blanket accusation of being "stupid" was issued by an industry leader at forumites who should be given the opportunity to look at all facets of the issue, and come to their own conclusion without any pressure from somebody who has a dog in the fight. The more of this kind of acrimony I see, the more respect I have for Sal Glesser's "shiny footprints" motto.

i think the best way for ZT to work this out, is to speed up sales of the 777.

next week is fine.:D

All I can say is, just when I thought a small man couldn't get any smaller....... :thumbdn:

(TM that is)

Thomas is obviously pissed so why don't you back off. Not that I need to fight any of his battles for him but your post was aggravating and a little bit callous, given the circumstances. ;)

I hope you're referring to someone else besides Thomas dude. He's a pretty big man in the industry and stature. Let's not take one remark out of context and start attacking the man ho's been shafted. ;)

Oh please, what's left to consider? Even Tony and MT have now admitted that the PX is nothing more than a copy of the 0777 done up for greed, not an influenced piece by Dmitry's work.

Now that the truth's been revealed, this would be the time for all out there that were "considering the claim" to realize that moment is over now.
To not would be...well you know.:)

I'd say he was referring to Tony. He's a pretty small guy when it comes to morals and stature. ;)

Thomas is obviously pissed
Not pissed per say, but it is difficult not being able to post true feelings. I'm sure we've all been there.

Easy now, let's not get stupi...err, silly here. First off, no man's ho's have been shafted here...wait..what?

Cziv, I don't think beelzy was referring to me :)

This is not Marfiones first rodeo and i'm sure it will not be his last....he has shocked the knife community on so many levels for so many years.

What does shock me is how folks continue to patronise him.

There is no doubt the ZT 0777 will out shine Marfiones copy by far.

I do have a nice size collection of ol school MT's....I once had high regards for there work.

I have not purchased there offerings for quite some time.

IMO, Tony's actions should not reflect on the Microholics forum ( still one of my favorites ).... The forum owner is good peoples.

Let people go ahead and spend 2k on their folders, and find out if the MT customer service horror stories are true or not (I only owned a UMS once, never had to send it in but traded it, I have read some horror stories).

Thats why Ive never bought a MT ....... there customer service reputation sucks to say the least.

Whoopsie gotta remember to proofread. :D

Sorry beelzy. :foot:

Attention Thomas: Don't get angry, get even. Back to the drawing board & develop an OTF that'll go the distance, wrap it in a blasted Ti Chassis, put a logo on the clip of a Turkey foot with the outside toes curled & middle straight. This better mousetrap would really get business & give ulcers.

I'm sure wondering who purchased that big buck prototype from the referenced post, sure would look good as evidence in IP litigation. Happy Thanksgiving everybody.

I am almost 60 years old (yes I know) and it still amazes me when I hear stories like this. People justify all kinds of things to fit their own world. There is a clear line between right and wrong and when I cross it , I know I have crossed it, even if I can justify it, I still know I crossed it, and I have to fix it. This whole thing just makes me very sad about the world we live in and it takes away a piece of my joy. I know that there is nothing we can do to change others actions, we can only try to control our own. So I guess we could all try to take the high road, maybe that is where we can help others to change. To those of you that have stolen others work, I know you don't care , but you have made me very sad.

I actually have my first Microtech on pre-order (not the 0777 copy) and just sent an E-mail to cancel it after reading this. I remember seeing the post where Ken Onion's personal knives were stolen from his luggage, and I remember how infuriated that made me. This is no different in my eyes. When my crdeit card is cancelled for the Microtech, it's going to a 0777 and some other Kershaws I've been eyeballing.

It's a shame that Microtech decided to go through with this tomfoolery, putting you guys at Kershaw in a hell of a position. Getting dragged through legal proceedings is never fun - I hope things work out for you folks in the end.
