The other Cade

Right now my "go-to" knife is a fallkniven A1.

A damn fine knife.

I've been wanting a Fallkniven for a long time and I really hate it that they are going out of business.:(
I should've bought one before my long term disability ran out.:o :foot:
If I can't ever connect with a Fallkniven I'll probably opt out for a Bark River one of these days. I don't know how the A2 will compare with the VG10 but ya *Just* gotta love convex ground knives.:D

Going out of bid'ness?

whaaaaat!!!!

Nooooooooo!!!!

I really wanted one of those long pig sticker "mine clearing" knives. Looked like it would been better as a "social interaction" knife.

speaking of which, This was the back of my neck a few months ago:

Its better to be the cutter than the cuttee.
That slash actually knocked out bone chips.
I was doing O.K till I started to walk away. Ah, well, I shoulda just shot the bastard. That was knife-fight #4 for me, I just can't resist :-)

My Fallkniven, well used and loved. (I wish it was about 1.5" longer) it would be more usefull as a general camp knife then.

. . .

Yvsa, where did yuor hear this? It's not reflected on the Fallkniven Forum.

Fallkniven is said to be up for sale, along with Shrade, according to something I read in another forum... don't want to post it verbatim, not sure of rules.

email me I'll show you where the info is.

Ad Astra

The Shrade brand was sold to a company that specializes in knockoffs.

Fallkniven was for sale -- as a going concern -- due to health problems of its president and leader. He's better. The talk of sale has stopped on the forums, including the Fallkniven Forum.

Wait a second... "knife fight #4"???

How is it you are not in prison? Or at least in a mental health hospital?
To be honest, That is the kind of thing the Other Cade has said...

I see too much "Made in Japan" in their stuff.

Edutsi...look at Bark again. American made...great steel, far better than I will ever exceed. I can bring a few for you to look at on my next visit. Sharp as all get out and easy to keep that way with just a loaded strop.

dij...hai

Danny: Not kidding.
Also, still not the other guy. :D
I have been,ah, somewhat unlucky in my short life.

I have all of my fingers, but only one eye.
Disconnected retina due to pressure, hemmoraged after I got hit.
*sigh* again, not kidding. Pictures can be provided.

Im no bloodthirsty sociopath, but I refuse to be a sheep.

Its not something that defines who I am, but I think it is important in understanding ME, especially in light of the subject of this forum.

I am no martial artist of any type, I am however a man who has fought with knives and survived. I might have something valuble to contribute..

That Bark River NorthStar with the orange handles looks like it would be a fine tool.

I don't have any experiance with A2 however so Im a little wary.

Wow...all I can say, unless you are in a profession that demands you be around high risk individuals/situations (eg. a police officer, prison guard, orderly for the violent insane, etc...), you really need to re-think your current lifestyle. Normal people do not get into knife fights period (well barring the severely unlucky who happen to be jumped out of the blue, eg. jumping from the treetops blue), let alone 4 of them by the ripe old age of 26. There is pride and then there is dead.

Love your taste in guns though.

The BRKT NorthStar is a fine knife and A2 has been around the block.

FWIW, I have one of the original XPs that were imported before Springfield bought the rights and started calling them XPs. It *is* a fine design.

I think knife fighting is a bad idea~ you do seem to be illustrating some reasons why, Mr. Cade.

Killing w/ knives may unfortunately be necessary for a few people, but that is something else altogether.

John, carries knives as tools, uses distance weapons by preference

Welcome Sam,
sorry for being late.
I own a Fallkniven of the same kind and I like it very much despite the rubber grip- but seriously, I think this line in much nicer - but awfully expensive

I would hate it if Fallkniven went out of business, they make fine knives from good VG10 steel.

however - khuks are more versatile, handmade and more addictive...
