The Parliament Of The Olamic Owls Is Now In Session

I think "Ocean" refers to the harpoon shaped blade and that "Kinetic" may refer to the light horizontal scoring of the handle along it's length on both sides, similar to the scoring that you can see on the green Wayfarer in Post #94 above.

If that's what they mean by "Kinetic," I can tell you that the scoring is so light that I can't even feel it and that it's purely cosmetic.
Yep, that's the Kinetic finish, and that's exactly what I was curious about. I love the look of the more "overtly tactile" finishes Olamic offers, and Kinetic is competing with Waveform in my head. Both very different looks, but now I know that with Kinetic it's essentially just the look. And it's still a cool aesthetic!

Thank you very much for sharing your impressions and taking that photo. :)

You're welcome! but, FYI, I previously posted the photo in this and another thread when I acquired it. So , it required little effort to re-post it.

I'm impressed that you've taken up the challenge to order one based on a design of your own choice and look forward to seeing what it looks like after you receive it. BTW, what's the lead time between order and production at Olamic?

FWIW, I was thinking about sending my plain Wayfarer back to them for a makeover but the design options were so overwhelming (as well as costly) that I decided to leave well enough alone. ;)

Don't be too impressed, I might not pull it off. 🤣 The sheer number of options is absolutely overwhelming, and even with dozens of gallery photos on their site I'm still not positive I'll love some of the combos I come up with.

If I can find a gently used Wayfarer that fits into my sweet spot on Olamic's plain-to-wildly-eccentric spectrum, I will buy that one instead of rolling the dice on one of my half-baked ideas. 😆 If I can't, then I may pull the trigger on a build that matches one I loved that I missed on the secondary market.

When I ordered a custom whippersnapper back in 2020 it took about 2 weeks from submitted the form to the knife being completed and shipped. It's a very impressive timetable IMO.

Put Cheburkovs away and started carrying these.
Swish and Appetizer arriving next week.

Thanks to a lot of boosting from folks here on BF, I've finally made my way to Olamic. :D

The secondary market presented a Wayfarer 247 that I could easily have specced out myself, so closely does it match my personal tastes: M390 drop point, waveform handles, rocks clip, bronze rocks backspacer, and stonewashed everywhere (hardware included!) but the backspacer. I love gray, but I also love that pop of "molten" bronze.

I like it! Good looking knife, there.

Still number one for me. If you don't count the years I spent not taking much notice in the high end knives we discuss here and only what's for sale locally by Spyderco Benchmade, Buck, etc. The Wayfarer 247 has held the title of most edc'd knife for me by a wide margin.
I would like to carry my FF Stinger in SM-100 more often, but it can't be replaced so it only comes with me when I know I am going to be in salt water (surf fishing etc).
It's the end of the road for me except for maybe some curiosities to resell after trying them out.

I hope that Olamic will do a run with MagnaCut, only way I would buy a new "keeper". And that's assuming that MagnaCut continues to prove itself.

I have a question about these Beauties: Can they build a Southpaw version?

Then I'm afraid that there's some big trouble brewing...
Thanks!
