The Plastic Pants Project

I've often wished they had a notch in both ends of them chicago screws. You tighten them or worse yet loctite them and they are a bugger to get loose.

That would be an ideal application for the para/bungee cord. I don't think regular para cord would work near as well. The stretchy bungee cord stuff allows you to stretch it over a belt, lets it flex and move a bit but sucks the sheath up tight just like your talking. I'm totally sold on it myself.
The beauty is you already got grommets so you can adjust ride height if you carry it vertically, you could add a cant if desire. Horizontally which is the way I would do that knife you don't have as much leeway but you don't need it anyhow. You want the knife right on your belt.

I think it's gonna be a really sweet setup. Maybe I WILL go hang out by the mailbox just in case.

PS- You must have a grommet setter huh? Yours ain't all beat up like mine when I get on a ball pein hammer rage.
Nice clean application.

Currently the loops are attached to rivited holes, and removing them would not affect tention on the blade. That is only gonna be an issue on holes that aren't rivited, like the highest hole up by the gaurd. That one is gonna be a tensioning screw that will be used to adjust retention at the gaurd, but I'm missing one little part right now. Does that make any sense?

Perfect sense. I know 0.00 about kydex or any sort of craftsmanship, so pardon my ignorance. I have a lot of useless knowledge, unfortunately none of it applies to anything "shop" wise.

Bawanna, I have a ton of the Chicago screws with a notch on the other side too. The ones on the sheath now may not be permanent actually, I just didn't have the right height slotted post. I try to avoid phillips screws all together, since they're less servicable in the field. I'll see if I can't get my hands on some bungee stuff. It's definitely worth a shot. And also yes, I do have a little press for the rivets. I meant to get a picture of that, thanks for the reminder.

Cul, I struggle with that same issue of lots of useless knowledge. Luckily, some of it crosses over into realms that some people consider "useful," or at least, that's what they tell me so as not to hurt any feelings :)

Apparently I'm not the only one in the boat.

I need to get more of the bungee stuff, it comes in a couple sizes. Only place I know to get it is downtown and I rarely go there but gonna have to. I don't hardly any at the moment.
I'm sure it must be available on line someplace but I never looked hard.
If I get down and get some I'll get some for you too. I don't think it's expensive. Actually another guy here usually gets it and I just get chunks.

I'll have to look online for it.

I found some stretchy bungee cord, don't know why I never bothered to look on line before.
Not having a fully functioning brain might be part of it.
Single, I sent you an email since I can't send you a PM.
