The PM2 is perfect

I'm sure nothing I'm gonna say here is news, but nonetheless I still want to say it.

I'm not a huge knife collector by any means.
I have a modest collection that all-together is only around $1000 worth of stuff.

I'm not necessarily a knife abuser (unless its my Adamas) but I use all of them for cutting anything. No safe queens.

And the only knife I own that has NEVER gave me any issues at all, is my Para 2.
Everything else has given me some sort of hassle, no matter how small.

Whether it be:
Tightening out bladeplay
Hard to sharpen
Becoming off center
Actions getting stiff/gritty
Etc etc

Ive had many "perfect" knives as my time being a Knut, but this puppy has been perfect since I bought it.
I've never had to adjust my PM2, never had any play, even after really hard work, and I find that the CPM S30V can be simple to sharpen.

Anyone else feel this way?
Obviously most of you do, seeing how often they're reccommended.
And for good reason.

It seems to be my most versatile, go-to blade. It is nice too with all the different steel options that come in the platform.

I could say the same about the Benchmade 940 or CRK Sebenza 21.

I think every established company has their flagship model.

I will agree with you...an excellent with a myriad of great steels and grip materials/colors.
My collection of PM2's was once pretty nice... it has become extinct at this date....other than one or two keepers. What has amazed me is the price drop of PM2's over the years. Now, with the sufficient quantity to please anyone, coming from the factory and most of our BF-supporting dealers, the "Exchange" price of a common S30V can be purchased for less than $100. I still have difficulty in accepting this.

The PM2 is a weird one for me. I recommend it highly, it's a great knife for nearly anything, the price-to-performance is fantastic and I could probably carry it as my only folder for the rest of my life without complaint.

But for some reason I'm never very excited about it. I don't dislike it, but it's not one of the knives that make me grin whenever I take them out of my pocket. It's a bit silly, but with so many options out there I just never seem to grab my PM2.

This is exactly how I feel.

I feel the same. I've actually very much come to prefer the Para3 (esp. the Cruwear version!).

I have handled the PM2 in the store and i think it is an impeccably well designed knife meant for good use. However, I have never purchased it because of its size in pocket. As for the pm3, i have owned the native5 with g10 scales and s35vn, and would choose that over the pm3. However, i gave me native5 to a friend after i bought the 940-1.

Agree, just a great all-around, well thought-out knife design. I have two, got my first left-handed one ever, and loving that as it makes one-handed closing easier and safer.

Me too, the Para2 just don't excite me. It is a great knife but there is just something boxy g10 tactical knife about it that makes it seem not that special. Strangely there are other boxy tactical knives that I like, such as the cqc7.

But honestly my biggest gripe about carrying it is the narrow fragile tip. I am wary of prying the opening tab on a coke can with the PM2. Generally I don't like super fragile tips. There are ways to make good stabbing tips without making them too thin.

I feel this way too.

Give me a Military , Manix2 or Yo2 any day.

Same here. I have a Manix II with Grimsmo scales that takes a regular beating and is still one of my best daily users. It can definitely take more abuse than the PM series, IMHO.

Fixed it for you. Your post was a little too 'wordy', so I removed a useless, redundant word and your post makes much more sense now. ;)

Don't!

Honestly, never really cared for the PM2. It wasn't bad, just seemed very generic. Bad Blade to handle ration, carried in pocket larger than it was, and super thin tip.
