You should be. It’s phenomenal. Congrats!
Looks great! Reate has been doing a great job with their recent Vanax releases if that is the blade steel you're planning to use.Reate production Sparrow... Here is the proto! View attachment 2775183
I was thinking magnacut 63-64rc since it's pretty close to vanax but a little higher toughness (but at a loss of corrosion resistance).Looks great! Reate has been doing a great job with their recent Vanax releases if that is the blade steel you're planning to use.
I'm looking forward to trying Vanax.I was thinking magnacut 63-64rc since it's pretty close to vanax but a little higher toughness (but at a loss of corrosion resistance).
I can ask about vanax though, what are everyone's thoughts?
Martin, you have too many friends to say "a" friend. Just sayin'. "My friends" would have been more precise. When might the Reate version be available? Asking for a friend of course![]()
What were you doing when you experienced that, Coleman? Have you done same activity with say, MagnaCut or other similar steel?Just some food for thought…Vanax doesn’t like lateral loads very much. Chips can happen pretty easily.
That said…I’m a fan of Vanax.
I have a lot of knives in both steels and both of them are great (especially with the right HT) and Imma buy one of your Reate Sparrows either way.I was thinking magnacut 63-64rc since it's pretty close to vanax but a little higher toughness (but at a loss of corrosion resistance).

I was doing something stupid. Haha. Let’s just say a hole needed to be bored. What were you doing when you experienced that, Coleman? Have you done same activity with say, MagnaCut or other similar steel?
