The return to SNARKdom

Going to go look at a '99 Jeep Cherokee tomorrow. Not a Wrangler, I know, but have always liked the boxy look. Have to drive 2 hours to see it, but it looks to be a good deal. Just got off the phone with the guy.

A no go. Drove 3 hours for nothing basically. 'Twas junky. Actually, the body and interior were in very good shape. However, he told me that in ran great, and the only things he knew of that it needed a was new exhaust, and the radio didn't work sometimes. Haha, that's a goodin'. Try, none of the instrumentation worked. He claimed it worked "sometimes". He said it had 101,000 on it, which isn't bad for a '99, but if the instrumentation doesn't work, how the hell would he know? He claimed that when he first turns the vehicle on, it works, then just quits for whatever reason. The light bar on top didn't work, that tailgate would open....eventually. I took it for a ride, and it didn't run horribly, but you can tell it has way more miles than what he claims. My '97 F-150 has 222, 000 on it, and it runs and handles 10 times better. The belts would squeal the entire time you had the a/c on. He said the tires were in good shape, but they were not. I tried the 4 wheel drive in the parking lot. It engaged okay, but when you made a left hand turn, it was grinding and making a clicking noise. Oh well, don't know until you try I guess.

Mine's an Inland too. Forget when exactly it was made but it was a lend/lease to Israel and the name of the guy who got it in Israel is written on the stock and buttplate.

I had high hopes for the new "Inland" carbines but I've heard spotty reports of them.

Sorry to hear about the jeep warrior!

Dude, you're gonna need a bigger motor to push that truck. I'd recommend a couple of big Mercs at least. But be aware you're gonna need to drill & tap the transom in either case.

Haha! Good plan. I will go bow mount with the troller then and add a breather.... I'll get around 65mpg and have a fishing submarine in one !

Meant to ask you though.. Did your Liberty ever have issues with spitting gas back out when you fill it up? Every time mine has been filled so far it's spit about a quart of gas on me, it, and the ground.

No never experienced that with the jeep.. One time at band camp though.... Wait... Family friendly and all that lol

I didn't realize they made new inlands...

my dad bought this one from his buddy's pawn shop in the 70's. Pretty sure it sat I storage because it was in near mint condition when he bought it. still in amazing shape

Almost all of them were refurbished after WWII but then it very well may have sat around until being surplussed. The new Inlands aren't really Inlands, they just took the name and are making guns under it. Like Springfield Armory and all those companies. That's why I used quotations. The new Inland Manufacturing just started up not too long ago and they specialize in replica WWII guns. Right now they make a few different M1 Carbines, an overpriced Ithica M37 shotgun, and I think they also have a 1911 too.

I tried searching with no luck, but thought I might just ask here. Have there ever been any statistics posted on how many BK2 knives have been made, or BK4 or BK5 or BK11 or anything like that?

Ok Beckerhead's get a BK 20 NOW or STFU this thing is what the BK9 always wanted to be...........wish I had the money for a safe queen or three!!!

Only 2 statistics i know of...

1. bladite and guyon teamed up since the very beginning and now own 98% of all Becker knives.

2. 99.9% of Becker knives are badass...and then there is the bk5.

:p

They've all been made. Except for the ones that haven't yet.

well, i seriously stopped acquiring them, as i have lots and lots of classic Machaxen, and the others came along for the ride, and happenstance before the prices went up, and so on... made sure to get a couple of the new ones. esp the Reinhardt.

other knives have tickled my fancy, and i go that route, as well, other hobbies, that take monies.

can't speak for Guyon. i know he had a ton though.

i know some other have bought their way in, regardless of cost. gotta appreciate that :D

there's a lot of stuff out there, and people are finding it.

You do have quite the impressive collection.

I guess no numbers have ever been made public of the sheer amount over the years. I was just curious.

Yeah, it's not much as far as "off roading" goes (most places were rougher than that pic though), but it's fun. Besides, if I need to do anything more than that I'll use a motorcycle. :D

My Wrangler does that every time. Haven't researched it yet but have a feeling there's some kind of breather tube or something, prob has mud or something clogging it.
