also i horrified Ethan with Dyneema ratings :D

he's already horried by current tech...

the fact that 2.2 mm line has support 680 lbs static? whoa.

Maybe a GAW for that sweet BG knife you posted?

No way man! That bad boy is still on my 'fave' list!

Congrats for both!

The only logical step is to do is give away the BK20, the contest can run until the knife shows up and then you can ship it out without even opening the box! no fuss, no mess, and a great prize!

MC, that is actually very good logic. I commend thee. Not going to do that but it's still a very well thought out plan. That I'm not doing.. :D

It's been so darn nice lately that it was a bit of a shock to have a frozen windshield on the car when I got off of work a while ago.

your beer has poly syllabic namings and you drink it in a thimble? oiy :D

"It comes in pints??"

That's a 16oz Ball jar!
Goes down faster without the taper to the glass. No, really. Also, it's more stable. :)

I found a similar bug image online of a molting camel cricket... But i still think alien could be correct LOL

I didn't kill it... If it was inside my house i would have but otherwise i leave stuff alone until it attacks me first... Like ants... Or stinging nettle... That's the devil for barefoot hillbillies like myself haha!

Porn with no pictures? What's next, alcohol free whiskey? The world as we know it will never be the same!

2.2 mm line that supports 680 lbs static is some Badass stuff! Still not sure I'd trust hanging off a cliff with it... Then again i wouldn't hang off a cliff with 20" rope braided with the strongest chains in the world lol.

Raining here this morning. Good for my garden, and i just put down some grass seed so beneficial there too... But keeps me from the creek.

Excited about Blade! Will only have $500 to spend so going to have to pick carefully and bring liquor from home but hopefully Will get something nice while there. After the comp on Saturday me and Curt are headed to his buddy's private hunting camp less than an hour from Atlanta to do some catfishing. Knives and fishing... Man that's plenty reason to be Excited if you ask me!!

Now I'm hungry. Who is buying breakfast?

:D

Oh yeah baby! Just ordered my Boony! Had to call KABAR to do it but f*** yeah its on the way. To NC. And then to me. Woot!

YEAH! If anyone has any hints or tricks on shipping to Oz, please lemme know! Really don't want customs getting their greedy little hands on these...
I read here somewhere to mark "Camping/outdoor gear" or something to that effect... and fixed blades are fine, really, its just folders that are an issue. I just hope they don't consider the 5 a dagger! Ive checked a bit online with not much help in regards to pricing. looks like I may have to just pop in at USPS or UPS to get accurate pricing due to the weight and esp the size/shape.

well... I could just hang on to it until I win

that thing looks just like a camel cricket. all over crawlspaces here and enough to freek you out when working. they jump everywhere all up in ur biz. some get pretty big too. 3-4x the size of a regular cricket, more in the grasshopper range

I have shipped hundreds of knives to Australia. Hit me up with any other questions you have bro. Camping gear is what i usually label it as depending on the blades.

It's more expensive but i only ship priority and insure it fully. Never had a single issue. Thousands and Thousands of dollars of Busse and swamp rat knives shipped. Worth the extra cost for peace of mind. I'd save up several blades to make each box worth it, but i was shipping to several guys over there, id ship one or 2 boxes a month, they'd get it and then distribute it amongst themselves.

mmm...

i have that upper, or a close approximation, and the sequoia srt comign shortly;

along with the adjustable crotch arch (keeping the standard size too - "dually")...

and uh, a working position option lanyard...

my old (like 9 mo rock gym) harness is just fine, just for solo work, and safety, i went "all out"...

good stuff that chest croll :D

will look up those other 'biners, but the guys at the arb supply imply that Vulcans are more for rigging than "life support". what?

yeah, whatever, river store ;)

mmm. also, frog vs stuff... perhaps i got my terms confused. haas vs saka vs ...

My Petzl rescue system is comprised of these two components:
https://www.petzl.com/US/en/Professional/Harnesses/FALCON#.VyooT9IrKUl
https://www.petzl.com/US/en/Professional/Harnesses/TOP-CROLL#.Vyoob9IrKUl

I added a cow's tail, Petzl ascender (left), and some BlueWater foot loops. I have all manner of descenders.

The Vulcans are good for rigging because they're so big. And 40kN meets general use rescue specs, so you're fine. http://www.cmcrescue.com/nfpa/
You could put two people and a litter on those 'biners and not have to worry.

Good ratings, but not a lot of material.
The smallest rope I own is some 8.3mm Canyon Fire rope, rated at 4100 lbF or ~18kN. It's fast.

Well I tried :p

Giveaways aren't required for milestones, just fun to do if you have something to give away. :)

Here's that ascent technique I mentioned: http://www.climbing.com/skills/rappel-to-ascend/

It works. It is not particularly easy, however. The hardest maneuver is the action described as "pull the slack upward through the device." Number one, there's not that much slack, at least the way I was rigged, so you're creeping up the rope. Number two, getting it to slide through the descender requires some muscling. I did ascend and rappel down a couple of times though.

Ascend mode...

Rappel mode with the autoblock engaged...

Thanks man! I will for sure! Priority looks like about $90 though...
