I've only had it since Thursday and I'm about over it. Lots of rest and fluids. One time I had a bacterial respiratory infection that hung on for two weeks because I wouldn't stay in bed. Finally had to get a script for antibiotics to shake it.

the bad thing i got about 2 months ago, had a multiday leadup, 36 hours of 104 degree fever, and a few days of sleeping, and 30ish days of hacking cough... bleah

Well, I've just been "microsofted". I have been refusing to "upgrade" to Windows 10 since they started pushing it to be upgraded. I was sitting here perusing threads in the forum and I noticed that things were running a little slow, but since I'm in a rural location and out internet service options are limited, we have what we have and have to put up with shitty connections all the time.

All of a sudden my system threw up this nasty screen that said

"DO NOT TURN OFF YOUR PC. WINDOWS 10 UPGRADE IN PROGRESS."

What the hell? I never told anyone or anything to "upgrade" to 10. Now 2 hours later, it finally lets me use my computer again. EVERYTHING seems to be running really slow when perusing the internet.

Not a real happy camper right about now.

i'd call M$ customer support and express to them your anger, the loss of data, and your lawyer's phone number, but if they send you a win 7/8 pro full install, and a backup disk... you'd consider it almost even

it's criminal, this forced upgrade. if you google around, you might find solutions. probably a class action suite too.

Alien. That movie really freaked me out, way scarier than Jaws. Just get out of the ocean, darn it. Now trapped in deep space, now that's just badness waiting to happen. Sigourney as some space chick Amazon, kind of reminds me of the Seinfeld changling girlfriend episode. Kind of hot, then not hot. Back and forth.

Actually, it looks a lot like a species of katydid. Keep in mind, though, that I know next to nothing about insects. So.....it's probably aliens.

Speaking of roads, I Uber'ed for the first time on Friday. And I finished my first half-marathon on Saturday even though training kind of went sideways the last couple of weeks. Came in under two hours, which was the goal. Today, I hung out in a tree for a while, dialing in some new gear and trying an ascending technique with my sport climbing harness.

Could someone throw a pic up of a BK10 next to a BK12. I own a 10 and I think the 12 might just be a hair longer and obviously just a drop point versus a clip point, but would sure appreciate a side by side pic.

i just dropped some $$$$ in new gear for me.

petzl srt harnesses for arborist use, and various bits and stuff...

probably want another line or two (soon)...

the petzl zigzag was the big piece.

will be doing a lot of tree climbing this summer.

what's the new ascending technique? i'm learning several

The ZIGZAG looks cool. Tree spider men.
It was more of an emergency ascending deal and not all that efficient.
I only frog, but I can get up a rope pretty quick. I'll put together a rope walker system one of these days.

i went "mostly petzl". will post the rig later. spent most of the Winter studying and what i wanted.

Petzl Vulcan steel 'biners are insane. will use them for some nice rigging later.

a good ankle/knee frog walker looks to be the most efficient thing i've seen, esp if you are old

easy up.

DRT is de rigeur (lol french pun), but SRT is gaining traction... do both! my harness will...

that said, comfort and joy, and ... some tree trimming

I thought I could do some Google Fu and come up with a proper identification, but mother of mercy, I may never sleep again. There are some scary molting insects out there.

Get out one of your knives and kill the stupid thing purely on principle. Or at least kill the next one you see if that one is already gone. For the children, man. For the children.

i have that upper, or a close approximation, and the sequoia srt comign shortly;

along with the adjustable crotch arch (keeping the standard size too - "dually")...

and uh, a working position option lanyard...

my old (like 9 mo rock gym) harness is just fine, just for solo work, and safety, i went "all out"...
