The rubber glovers

I'm always suspicious about origin when I see "US made" knife photos handled with gloves on ebay.

These, for instance, I know where they are made ! Honest hand photos are a good thing in my book :)

I've definitely seen some posts in the exchange where I wish the seller was wearing gloves ... at least trim and get the schmutz out of your nails.

🤮
Are you lookin' to buy a knife: or a suggestion for a manicurist?
If you keep your eyes on the prize: the noise around it grows silent...

This is all very interesting...you mean there are knives that rust just by touching them with (gasp!) my BARE HANDS? Permanent stains from just touching them???

Would that make the knife A) Super crappy?
or, B) really valuable because of the very delicate steel?

If you knew the steel was so delicate that just human flesh degrades it, what purpose will it serve? Scalpel? Safe queen? Hard use EDC? Training tool? I have carbon steel knives aplenty, and they can get wet without rusting, what kind of carbon steel is this desirable and delicate?
