The Sage Is Here!

But does it say 'sage' on the blade? For the first time ever, I'm hoping the name is on the blade, as my nickname is sage. :) Not because I'm wise, just the first syllable of my name.

I might add that these makers are proud of their countries and like putting their country of manufacture on each knife. that's what we do with our USA made knives.

Spyderco only works with skilled, conscientous, passionate makers. They are proud of their efforts and they are proud to be able to make knives for Spyderco.

Im curious as to what area of Taiwan your chosen maker/s are from ?

I personaly know a few very good knife makers here in Taiwan, Im wondering if any of them are keeping a secret from me ? :p

I'm in, if Sal says its good...then its good enough for me. I've been waiting on this one for a while. I would have like to see a lanyard hole though.

The only thing I like to see on the blade is the bug. The steel and place of origin is nice, as long as it isn't noticable on a daily basis... Like it is done now.

Though a nice web design on the blade / handle would be cool. My Spin has a web on the handle, but not the blade.

Hi S.C.,

No "Sage" on the blade. Afi's don't seem to like names on blades.

Haze,

We'd prefer not to give out that info, competition you know. The maker was highly recommended by a knife afi in Taipei that we respect. We went to visit. The skill, knowledge and passion was there.

Hi JPrice,

We'll consider a lanyard hole in future variations.

Remember the Ti Herbst? Made in Germany, look what happened
Country of origin doesn't guarantee you anything

Great looking knife, great price, made by Spyderco with a U.S. blade. What more is there to think about???? My order has been placed ever since mr. blonde posted the first pics of it here on the forum. Can't wait!!

Cheers,
Jon

Ti Herbst, made in germany, notorious for bad detents and locks that didn't work. A HUGE load of factory seconds as a result

Looks like a very cool EDC, def on the list.

As a new owner of the S90V Military and Tenacious, I would like to say THANK YOU Sal for making such high quality products at a very reasonable price. The Millie and Tenacious replaced all my Emersons in EDC rotations and they will stay in the drawers for a while.

Please have more knives made in your Golden factory, the quality is just exceptional!

-3" blade
-S30V

Can't wait to get one - and the whole Sage line...

(This entire design is what I prefer - Caly, Manix, Native, Tenacious - and now the Sage... ;))
