The Salt knives are sweet

Salt I is a perfect EDC for hot summer even far away from seas and oceans...

The Salts are, hands-down, my favorite Spydercos. Every day, I carry a black-handled SE Pacific Salt; and on my work days, in addition to that, I also carry my black-handled SE Tasman. They're extremely useful knives, and I like the relatively maintenance-free nature of them. I just carry them down in my pocket (clip and all) like regular pocketknives, so it isn't obvious I even carry a knife, except for the Victorinox Spirit multi-tool on my belt. They're so thin and light they're hardly noticeable in my pockets, but are large enough to be easy to locate without effort.

In normal daily use, my Pacific in particular gets used for various chores several times a day.

Tap, awesome clip! Where did you get it? James, I agree 100%. I love how light and thin it is. I can drop it in basketball shorts and forget it's there.

I polished it down with dremel and green polishing compound. The paint from screws was taken down with that

I recently got a SE Tasman, it is a great little EDC an has actually displaced my Matriarch Emerson as my backup SD weapon (after my pistol, it is Texas after all). Although the Tasman is smaller than the Matriarch, I can actually use it for something without fear of breaking it as easily. It is very handy around the boat this time of year, I never bother to rinse salt (or brackish) water off it and have seen zero corrosion whatsoever. It will continue to be my water related knife until I get my Autonomy (whenever that is, hopefully soon).

One thing...I wish they would reintroduce the Spyderhawk or a model of similar size/features. I like the mix of H1 and hawkbill shape, but I wish it were just a bit larger.

*Hint hint Sal!*

Tap, I like the stripped clip more as well. The squared part threw me off. I may try stripping mine.

Captain, stop thinking about it and just get. It is sweet!

I like the stripped clip too but I dont have a Dremel to take the black off my Salt 1's clip.

I would love them see the do the lil matriarch in h1. It seems to have a much less extreme tip than the matriarch and I think the reverse s would be a very useful option to have in the salt line.

My Salt 1 SE (one of my favorite Spydercos) has a straight sided titanium clip like the one in tap78's photo. I think I've seen some newer ones with a tapered clip, similar to the Delica's. Are all the Salts like that now? Have they switched to stainless steel for the clips or are they still ti, just in a different shape?

The clip on my Salt 1 is tapered. I like the one in tap78's photo. I'm pretty sure the new ones are still titanium, just a different shape.

I was planning to start my own thread about comparing the Pacific Salt SE to the Tasman SE, but since this is a whole thread about Salt knives I'll just ask for advise here!:D
I have been planning on getting a Pacific Salt SE in a few months, but had never considered the Tasman SE before this thread.
Anyone have both and could take a photo for size comparison?
This would be a back up blade as I love my Stretch PE, but sometimes a SE blade would be nice to have as well.
Anyone with experience with both please share your thoughts!

I pulled the trigger on the yellow Salt 1. I knew they're great. I have a Dragonfly in H-1 as well as two Pacific Salts.

My clip is all jacked up and I think I'm going to strip the black off....does anyone know how to get that sucker shiny?

looong polishing is a key to success... :)

Some more photos from the past :) (with black clip)
