The Salt knives are sweet

I've had my se Salt 1 for about a year now and absolutely love it. I think it's about time to get my second salt (which will be a Pacific Salt)

I have (and use) them all and the se Pacific Salt is my hands down favorite. I can't say I would want a serrated edge as my only knife but if I could only have 2 knives that se pacific salt would absolutely be one of them!

Fwiw, I have the pacific salt in all formats and colors and the black handled se is my favorite.

I'm wanting a Pacific Salt now too. I usually like less than three inches of blade, but the Pacific Salt looks awesome. I love my Salt 1 and I can only assume the Pacific is just as good if not better. However, I think the Stretch is next on my list.

Surfingringo,
I am almost as passionate a supporter of the Pacific Salt H1 as yourself- I have but one.:D
I admit to being on the fence about taking the point of my PS H1 down to a more acute angle as you have done.
Does the tip become weakened in any way due to this?
Thanks

Yes, it definitely weakens the tip. It is a tradeoff that I am more than happy to make because it makes the knife more functional for me. If one didn't really need a finer tip for anything then it might be wiser to roll with the stock tip just for the added security. Now don't get me wrong. By "weaker" I don't mean "weak". It's still a piece of steel (and a pretty tough steel at that). The reground tip on my pacific salt is not really any "pointier" than the tip on a police or a Millie or pm2. I put mine through their paces pretty good and have never bent or broken one.

In my experience, some people are prone to breaking the tips off of their knives and some aren't. If you don't fall in the first group then you should be fine.

Thanks, I am not prone to use my knives as prybars, and the PM I have is still functional after many years service.
However, as my PS H1 is mostly used for scuba, where there is sometimes the need for light prying, I will wait to commit on the mod for now.
I don't feel especially hampered by the stock tip, so as you say, stick with it.
Much obliged.

:D
Too many fine blades out there for me to duplicate one.
Maybe I can cheat and get the Tasman Salt in H1, problem solved?
