The Salt knives are sweet

Do you think the black clip screw is made of Ti? I would like to try and get that to match the clip as well......going to try and polish it on a buffing wheel, not sure how it will work but I will put up pics when I get it.....going to try a wire wheel to get all the black off first, then polish with the buffer.

They are not Ti... stainless steel (rather soft)

wow, i didnt realize that you got that polished up too! Im going to try it tonight, hope it comes out like that!

I just worked for like an hour and a half......polished off the black and got the screw down to steel. I actually got the H1 logo off the blade so its sterile - oops didnt mean to do that. Got bored of trying to get it to look like yours so I just got done anodizing it on my stove! It looks pretty good! I will put pics up tomorrow.

I'm under the belief that on the Salts anything that is not made of Titanium is made from H1 steel (ie the screws)...can anyone confirm that?

One thing I don't like though...the stupid lanyard hole is so damn small! Seriously, why?? I couldn't fit 550, hollowed out 550 either; had to get the lighter grade paracord (195 I think?) and use that, it just doesn't have the kind of strength and rigidity of 550 I like. I really wish they would make the hole the same generous size seen on most Spyderco models.

Here is my attempt at anodizing, i buffed the H1 off on accident, but i think the clip came out pretty good.

I believe the screws are specially treated, but are not themselves H1 steel.

Actually, the Salt lanyard holes are slightly bigger than the one on the Military. I think making a bigger Lanyard on the Salts would require the clip to be made bigger around where it attaches to the handle, or else it would weaken it.

I pulled the trigger on the yellow Salt 1. I knew they're great. I have a Dragonfly in H-1 as well as two Pacific Salts.
Looking at buying something from the Salt line - narrowed it down to a dragonfly 2 or the salt 1. Based on your experience, what would be your recommendation on which to buy first?

I would say the Salt-1 would be a great place to start.

It really depends on what size knife you wan't though. The Dragonfly is pretty small.

I love the dragonfly design but without liners, the thin little dragonfly can feel a bit "insubstantial" at times. I prefer the dragonfly 2 to the delica in its regular iteration but in the salt line I would probably go with the salt 1.

Don't get me wrong, the dfly salt is plenty tough, but you will notice a bit more pivot flex than in the larger salt models.

Thanks for the feedback, gentlemen! Tough decision... (I know, I know - I should just get both. :D) But decided to go with the Dragonfly because I don't really have anything in that blade length right now.

You will like it. The dragonfly salt is actually the knife that started my spyderco addiction!

If you are looking for a knife in that size the Dragonfly is a excellent choice. Let us know what you think when you get yours.

I just finally pulled the trigger on a Pacific Salt SE. Man, this thing is Nice! I am so glad I got this as I was going back and forth between this and the Salt 1. I was concerned that the Pacific Salt would be too big for edc, but it is so nice and thin it just disappears in my pocket.
I just love how light it is, yet it locks up solid!
I love the full SE and as a result of buying this, I went ahead and got a sharpmaker so I can keep it shaving sharp!
Thanks Spyderco for another awesome knife!

I love my Pacific Salt in H1, for all the reasons you love yours.
I use mine for scuba- light, rustproof, reliable and it tucks away nicely so as not to scare the fish.:D

The Warrior is my favorite from the salt line :) Followed closely by the Aqua Salt in full SE.

I see you got the Dfly, which many people love. The Dfly was a miss for me for some reason. That one and the Stretch are two knives that get rave reviews that I just didn't dig.
