The Sardinian connection.

After a long long wait I finally have my first one. Many thanks to Fausto for making this possible!

That Horn is cooler than Miles Davis! :D

19cm open is a big one but I think that's the usual size for this Traditional? Well worth the wait I'm sure!

It is 19.5 cm open. From what I have seen, many of these are larger. It is not uncommon to see them several cm longer. When I ordered it, I wanted something similar to an Opinel #8 in size. This knife has a blade almost exactly the same length as an Opinel #8, while the handle is a little shorter. For me that is the perfect size - large enough to handle food tasks, but still easy to carry.

Gorgeous knife!:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

I'm happy our man in Sardinia is still on the job, exposing us to the Resolza, one customer at a time.

Glad to see this knife posted here :)
Yes, I would say it's a bit small compared to the "standard" size (typically 9-10 cm in blade length). Yet this is much more pocketable, and still big enough to be comfortable in use.
As for horn, I understood that we were after a bit of character...and I think we have it.
Enjoy your first resolza ;)

This is just what I had in mind. It turned out great! Thanks again for your help, Fausto!

Absolutely stunning! Great photos as well. Thanks for sharing your joy with us :thumbup: The horn is gorgeous with the pins

Hi friends,

Here you will find my last pattada from Roberto Serra,
The bolster is in damascus from Davide Steri, the handle in mouflon's horn and the blade is in RWL34
All the screws and axis are homemade in RWL.

Best all for the coming new year :D:thumbup:

Beautiful! Thanks for sharing. Fausto is hooking me up with Gigi Sechi for a piece that I am very much looking forward to.

It would be a very good choice !!!
Gigi is a great master smith and makes an incredible damascus .
It's a very good friend of mine.
Next month we are going together for a blade show in the east of France .

Here is my son learning the job :D

Very nice! Gigi's damascus is what drew me to his knives. Sweet looking power hammer in the background. Thanks for sharing those great pics. Have a great time at the show!

I'm surprised the guy with the HK didn't fire first if he was sure enough to call the guy out as a cop. No love for a criminal I guess. Personally I would have fired first, kept the loot and the knives.

Oh well beautiful knives, they sort of remind me of the Hungarian folk folders popular in my culture, or even a Laguiole. I really like some of these classic European folders, alot more than some of the traditional American offerings. Not to insult American craftsmen.

Simply wonderful mixture of materials on this knife, all compliment each other.

You are lucky too that your son is taking up the trade and skill.

Late to the Sardinian party, but have red as much as possible to barely catch up.

Any suggestions for a source of a "beginner" Resolza in blond horn?

Have a Laguiole in black horn by Renaud Aubry. Might make a nice set.

Hi,
Of course you can ask Fausto who helps a lot our american members .
But I think you are very wellcome if you send a mail to the craftmens .

The price will vary with you choice :
blade size : from 8 to 13cm
blade metal : inox, carbone
forged vs stock removal

More and more sardinian knife-makers accept paypal which is a good easy and secured mean to buy.
If you need to contact some of the knife-makers I know or a translation, feel free to ask ;)
